Grey Paint suggestions? My cars getting painted. Early E30

I have a Cosmo Blue 85 ETA here is a picture of when I got it last year. It's now a 2.7i stroker on stand alone with a full turbo kit waiting to be installed this winter for a power goal of around 350 WHP.

I want to stay with a grey colour but was looking for any suggestions, the interior is blue with sport cloth seats which are in mint condition so I need to go with a colour that will work with the blue.

I'm doing a full plastic bumper swap including the rear valence which is a ton of work but worth it.

I'm not sure if going too dark is going to be a good idea.

I'm thinking United Grey from Volkswagen

I hear it's a BMW colour.

Right now to play it safe I was narrowing down on this colour

Which is BMW Silver Grey, it's basically my colour but with a few shades darker.


I love the colour on the impreza but not sure if an E30 can pull it off? Also was thinking to not paint the rockers flat black like factory but to paint them body colour, I'm getting a Eurostyle Reiger Infinity replica. I plan on keeping the bumper trim black for some contrast.


Any suggestions would be great.

My old E30 (1990 325iS) was an OEM E30 color - Lachsilber Metalic. If you ask me it is my favorite color on a E30, I think it looks absolutely gorgeous. That said I would also love to have a fully done up MTech II E30 in Delphin Gray, I think that would be great, and that color is awesome too.

The best color Subaru makes for the STi is Steel Grey Metalic, a guy on Max tag name "Standard" has an STi in that color you can PM him for pics if youd like.

I looked at the Subaru steel grey and when I saw it I though that's prefect but I noticed in the sun it has a sandy brown hue to it.

Thanks for the suggestions, Lachsilber Metallic is now part of the list lol. I think it suits the E30 a little better than the Silver Grey from the e46s.

i would go with a grey base color with a nice blue pearl that really sets off when the sun hits it ,im doing the same with mine this winter but im going white with a blue pearl trust me it looks sweet

This is Honda Fit Storm Silver Metallic. I think it looks pretty sweet, I noticed it shows the body lines of the car really well.

I think I might go with this.
