hmmm....i may have to spring for those shocks. To the OP im sorta in the same boat as you.....i've called the major junk yards and theres nothing decently priced.

are back and front bumper shocks the same? what about prior to plastic bumpers- are those the same? anyone?

so when someone says that the plastic bumper conversion on an 88 is a bolt on job they mean that the bumper shocks must be bolted on as well?

Correct. As per my car. 88s need the bumpershocks, and the side plastic slide-in mounts.
