i made a vid too. of me in my civic, on winters, passing a bunch of 4wd cars on the 401/427.

they were going 40.

i was going 80

(my girlfriend made me slow down, before i was doing around 100. This was 3am, right when the snow was fresh and 2-3inches deep.

civic with winter = awesome.

i got it completly sideways driving on the shoulder (wanted to see if i could drive in unpacked snow. you can, but not more than 40)

this is my first winter with tires....the e36 is awesome with winters, no prob whatsoever even in deep snow. Just don't try using it as a snowplow*thmbsdwn* learned that the hard way this morning...had a fun time rocking it out:D

I was driving my SUV, 4x4 mode on and with Snow Tires, on the 401 towards Cambridge around 1:30am.

I was completely amazed at the traction. I kept passing everyone, along with a few more snowtire equipped SUV's as people were sliding around behind us.

Better to keep the slipping and sliding mess behind you. :)

i was out at around 1, 1:30 - nothing had been plowed yet. there's a relatively steep escarpment access near my house (new mountain road, for those that live in hamilton) that i had to come down. made it down, then i looked back and wondered if i could make it back up.

so i turned around and drove back up :D near the top it gets steeper, and i wondered what would happen if i floored it - a little wheelspin but then _acceleration_ up the hill!!

i have a whole new level of respect for the 'iX now. that thing is crazy awesome in the snow!

look for some drifting vids soon :P

Nice vid Chris, perfect choice of song!

Its too bad you didnt get the shot of Dan hanging out my passanger window, manually moving my windsheild wipers while im at full throttle sideways.

Oh yeah, i need winter tires badly!

edit: Jay you were pulling some huuuge drifts

Those dudes cleared the parking lot so quickly today. I was hoping to do some practice sliding at Erin Mills Town Centre only to see it cleared and salted. Damn!

exactly. The most dangerous thing about the roads when they're comlpetly snowed over isn't the snow. its other drivers.

i saw at least 10 crashed cars, a white e90 on acs3's stuck in the snow (qew westbound near park lawn) along with a bunch of cobalt SS's, couple camaros and mustangs, all stuck

everyone who says you dont need winter tires is an idiot. the only way i'd consider driving without them is if the car was new (traction control, abs, etc) and 4wd. if your car doesn't have any of those three, i'd definatly splurge for winter tires. i paid 100$ for all four of mine.

jay, was your M on winters in that vid?

Isn't the Pulsar a rarer car to be driving it in the Winter. Sort of a shame isn't it?

I just don't like seeing, rarer older cars being used as winter cars by a new owner. I guess one manís price possession is anotherís Winter Beater. :) Iíd rather seem them preserved. :)

You can rest assured that i will be babying this puppy. Its not my winter beater, infact it wont be drivin at all except for track days or drift meets, other than that it sleeps inside the shop *wave*

If you take care of the car, get it undercoated, spray down the undercarriage regularly, keep a good coat of wax on it, etc, driving a car in the winter isn't so bad. Its a lot of work, but for the amount of fun that pulsar seems to be in the snow, if it was mine, i'd probably drive it once in a while too:D

That Pulsar is pretty damn fun to drive. I was surprised how easy it was to shift with my left hand, didn't take much getting used to.

Sick videos Chris, we'll be out again as soon as it snows for more!

just because you have 4X4 only means you can keep driving in the snow but your SUV or truck will stop the same and if not worse than a car at high speeds
