i found a parts car for my '87 325e, but is an 85. I pretty much only need the tranny for now. Are more parts interchangable?
There both 5speed 2door, 325e's.
thanks

everything?
If the '85 has rear disks (which it should) everything is the same.

thanks for clearing that up
Yeah, there are small differences but all the major parts are the same, like suspension, motor, trans, diff, etc. It's all interchangeable.

From mid to late 86' the 'e' cars went through a change... mostly minor. Things like trim and some issues with the bumpers. Some things under the hood also. Check the ETK.
I have owned an 85... and I have an 87, (late 86 production).
Later.
