I might be going to look at a 87 325. The guy said it is an american car and said its not an 'i' or and 'e' but just a straight 325. I was unaware there was such a thing. I have previously owned both a 325i and a 325e
does this car have the 2.5 or the 2.7? (he wasn't sure)

any other thoughts on these cars?

thanks

if its not an 'i' its a 2.7L m20.

plain 325 and 325e had the same motor, only the optinos differed.

There were options of course, but it had the least standard equipment of the model year.

The 325 was made in 87 (only i think), to be a cheaper version of the 325e, some of them came with manual windows, no cruise, etc....But the mechanical is the same as any other E30...

Your sig is seems to be getting larger n larger (lack of enforcement?), can't you put the txt to the right of your sig? instead of taking up half a page.

Thanks for the input, but even with all the contact info in my sig (and stated twice) people still PM for location and phone #! So realy, it shold be even bigger and in red, so people can see it, and stop asking stupid questions.

Well I had a look at the car last night. The owner wasn't there so I couldn't hear it runing or have a good look under the hood or anything.
The body is in pretty good shape, there is only one rust spot on the drivers door. The clearcoat is peeling in lots of placing though.

The thing that is scaring me away from this is, I was going to write down the V.I.N so I could run a carfax report and the V.I.N. is gone!!

he said he had no idea it wasn't there, and said he has the ownership and can get me the vin number

what are your guys thoughts on this?

The dash could have been swapped out at some point to replace a cracked one.

Check for the VIN inside the driverside door jam. If that one is missing also then i would be concerned.

What are your plans for the car? Winter beater? or daily? or project?
unless its a winter beater or something you dont care about, i'd wait for a late model 325i /is.

I'm not looking for and e30 daily driver since I have a hefty commute everyday, thats why I drive a TDI. I am just looking for a second beater car/project that I can just bomb around town in. a 325 i/is would definately be sweet but the price that this one is at, is hard to pass up.

I'll check the vin in the door jam when I meet up with him, thanks
