Is that true the M Performance Package offered in Canada is the same as the so called ZHP offered in the U.S.?

In particular the following is what I'm curious about:
-The extra 10HP & 8ft/lb of torque from new camshafts
-3.07:1 Final drive ratio vs. 2.91:1

One of my friends told me there is a difference in that the Canadian version didn't have the extra HP or change in final drive

Any ideas?

yes, they are the same thing

Okay how about the M Sport Package vs. the M Performance Package? Does the M Sport Package have all the cosmetics, minus the increase in engine performance and different final drive that the M Performance Package has?

and some interior appointments like alcantara on the steering wheel which later got replaced by the perforated leather because the alcantara wore out into little balls and the red needles on the gages.

...interesting. Thanks guys *th-up*

The increase in power and final drive probably isn't that big of a performance difference.

One more thing, does anyone have any idea how much the M-Sport Package and the M-Performance Package options cost? I just need a rough idea, thanks ;)

Any ideas?Yes - variation in Canada was the M Sport package - everything the same with the exception of cams, engine management, short shifter, rear diff and some cosmetic items e.g. US spec ZHP has red needle guages, about 3/4 of the production run ZHP's have alcantra covered steering wheels. To the untrained eye a 2003/04 Canadian spec M Sport package appears to be a ZHP. BTW - ZHP was a factory code - the car in the US was also marketed as M Performance.

a 04 330ci M-performance without the premium package was ~$62-63k on the road (in aug. 2003).

Yup, and the Performance package also had a 300rpm higher redline. I'm not sure if the Canadian models got it, but like mentioned above the US Spec received red gauge needles vs the orange ones.

1) M-Sport package was $5200 (CAD). When M-Performance Edition came out for Year 2004, it was around $7,000 (CAD).

2) Both M-Sport package and M-Performance Edition have firmer Sport Suspension Level II (the same as US' ZHP). Definitely an improvement over normal sport package's level I suspension (I owned both).

3) For model Year 2003 in Canada, M-Sport package came with short shifter.
Also new for 2003, was Silver aluminum cube trim (instead of the black cube in 2002) .... love silver cube ... I get lots of compliments on it.

Do you have the whole suspension from ZHP? shocks and springs? Maybe we can do a trade for my Bilstein PSS coilovers?

you guys should ask me, the sucker who paid extra for the ZHP package. In august 2004, I purchased a brand new 2004 saphire black 330ci with premium package, metallic paint, and adaptive headlamps, and the M performance package. Except I remember paying closer to $9000... I don't remember exactly, I have to check my bill of sale.

After driving the normal 2004 330ci, and then an M Performance, I was sold completely. worth every penny. The car is seriously under rated. The difference between a normal 2004 330ci 6spd and the 2004 M performance 6spd was night and day to me Handling, throttle response, sound, accleration was a noticeable difference!! They even flashed my computer with the Dinan Flash after I complained a little about the dip in power at 4000rpm... Amazing! and wow, that 3.07.1 differential is nice! big difference from the stock 2.93.1.

Its been a hard long mission to let her go, but alas, I need something more practical and AWD for my daily driver now. Probably an X5.

But the 330ci ZHP is honestly an incredible daily driver! As crazy as this may sound, I like the drive, handling, and ride much more than E46 M3 Cabriolet.

Mine is forsale if you really want one ASAP. I can set you up with an incredible deal on it before I trade it in this week if you're ready to buy!! PM me!
