new antenna motor from a parts place, they are super easy to swap. The antenna is part of the motor, so if you want a new one that raises and lowers, you need the whole motor.

or, if you dont want to be bothered with replacing it ever again, i have this one if you want - its just a normal non-extending antenna. i think it looks awesome, i have the identical one on my own car. radio reception is just fine.
$20 and its yours.

Dude, I have replaced antenna's on my 3 e30's over the years with OEM Hirschmann one's I have bought on ebay. It works out to be about $35 Canadian for an OEM one including mast and motor brand new! You can't go wrong. The motors never work the same with a replacement mast (which is usually $25 on its own!) Trust me find a reputable seller and get the new package.

The motor on mine also stopped working and like an ass I went though a car wash and the friggen thing snapped in half...I had to buy a newantenna but turned out the motor just needed to be cleaned and greased.

Majjic, what did you end up doing? I also need to replace the antenna and possibly the motor as well. BMW quotted me about $700 hahaha.

You are wrong on this one; the motor/antena is NOT one part, and can be replaced on its own....

What did you decide to do though? I'm in the same situation as I need to replace my E30 antenna. The choices are buy off Ebay; go to Canadian Tire, etc etc. If I could get a good fixed antenna, something like the Euro antennas that VW uses, I think I'd be happy with that.
