hey guys. just wondering your opinions. currently i got in my 2004 330ci 5w30. that is what the dealer uses. synthetic of course.

my mechanic has som 5w40, synthetic. i think some brand from europe. i forget the name...in a blue container i think. from germany i think. if i put the 5w40 in my car is that alright. any pros or cons. or almost same thing. the car has 86,000km.

I use elf too, and heard from a lot of people who sue it that it's great.

actually i just found out the oil. anyone hear of F1 Racing Cyclone synthetic oil. From Greece i think.
if you haven't heard of it. just in general. if i were to change from 5w30 to 5w40. are there any pros or cons....or pretty much same thing.

The higher number means that it is slightly thicker (more viscous). It won't make a difference in your case. A lot of people (including me) use 5w40 oil in their BMW. *th-up*
