just wondering
how noticable is the power given by this chip?
and what exactly does it do...besides give the car more power

im 100% n00b @ ECU shit

and does this chip really murder gas consumption based on what im seeing in a post above about watching the gas meter go down....?

Now for a REAL answer...

The power is very noticeable in the mid to higher rpms. Aside from giving the car more power, the chip also gives you the added fun of an extra 500~rpm because the redline is reset to 6900rpm.

Only downside is you need to use premium gas. If you don't push it, you'd prolly get away with cheapo gas, but I stress NOT pushing it, ie hardly ANY load whatsoever.

Some cars I have read it actually HELPED (!) gas consumption. I found that it was the same on my car since I have a heavy foot anyways.

El Gato Liso, since you are a n00b at 'ECU shit', I will help you install it for free if you buy my chip *th-up*

LOL @ that gas meter going down. Please, grow up. You're making the car sound like a thousand liter 16 cylinder gas/alcohol/nitrous/propane chugging monster.

And I did reply to your PM about the rack, did you not recieve it? If not, I'm gonna check on Wed if I can take off the tie rods or not. I have some school projects to finish before mid-week.

Ok, why would you want to redline the car higher then the stock redline is? It doesn't make any sense as your valve train is definitely not ment to see 6900 rpm from the factory.
Anyhow, i have the mark d 91 chip as well. I can't say that the power gain was that noticeable, i actually barely felt it. It might pull a little bit harder but that's about it. Fuel consumption IS better if you don't beat on the car.

Extra redline I found extremely useful for AutoX last year... And Yes I agree its not meant to be taken that high in terms of the rpm, It can take about 7100~7200 before the valves start to float. I'd worry more about the rockers anyways at 7k+
