My family has always had an extra car (my dad has an SUV and a summer car), now that my sisters are married and moved out, we have 4 cars for 3 drivers.

Yup, the E36 for summer, Tracker for winter and a mini van for the wife and kid hauling duties.

I have to admit having 3 cars is a little annoying in that the car seats are only in the van and the Tracker. If my wife is out and I want to bring the buckaroo with me somewhere, we have to take the Tracker. I could always install the car seat in the E36 but I have to throw in a bolt for the top tether which means I have to cut into the rear deck...frig.

Whoops, I'm ranting.

^^talk to rico328i, he's the expert on putting car seats in.

and we have 3 cars, mom's camry, my bmw, and my civic. Right now, there's three primary drivers.

camry - dad
bmw - mom
civic - me

However, i rarely have both my bmw and my winter car on the insurance at the same time. In the winter, bmw gets dropped to fire and theft, mom becomes primary on civic.

insurance companies hate young males, i'm paying 4200 a year for the civic (me first driver) and ~2200 for the bmw (mom first driver).

Holy crap...4200! I guess being semi old and married has it's advantages. I don't even pay that for the "fleet" over a year.

I've checked out Nascar318is's car seat setup. His little guy is the same age as my daughter. I should do it sooner than later though, than I could take the insurance off completely on the truck and save some coin...

Currently 3 cars and 2 primary drivers.

The Audi and BMW are mine and my girlfriend has her Corolla. Had a 3rd car, a Civic (winter car), for a while but sold that. Insurance isn't that bad at all.
