e30's hold up good.

They do but are high maintance and insurace definatly doesn't favour them in Quebec, more then 2X's the yearly rate in comparison to your e36 318.
Price around, a e30 in good condition for a worthwhile price is almost impossible to find in the ottawa area as I'm sure Dave has already told you.

well only maintenance thing that is worrysome to me is the Rubber timing belt and it letting go.

my 95 2.8L jetta cost me $695 full coverage.
my 318 is $296 for liability a year (yes it has an alarm & we have dogs).

as for no choices in ottawa T'is true!! but i was looking on some mntrl sites
Holy E30's batman! they're everywhere around there & only 2hrs away.

E30's are not high maintenance. Parts are cheap, and they are very easy to work on, if they ever need it. Just a little bit of preventative maintenance will keep the e30 running forever.

Adam, don't worry about the timing belt, just replace it and the waterpump every 3-4 years and you will never have a problem. The job takes less than a day to complete, including many beer/smoke breaks:)

but damn that legacy would have been sweet*mw*

3000 is way too much for a 1984 325e. Especially one that has a cracked dash, rust, and broken shifter components.:huh?:

My neighbour just bought an '05 Saab 9-2x Aero for $21K, they go as low as $18K for that year. Look out for them dropping in price like crazy in the next few years thanks to the GM affiliation. They're a Subaru WRX wagon with more leather, of course.

That's not a bad looking E30. If I had driveway space, I would pick it up. Assuming it actually drives. I need a winter car. I don't think my daily can survive another winter. :)

No money and no time to work on it. It's depressing to say that the summer is almost over and I still haven't gotten any time to make it run nicely. It is pretty much in the same state as it was at the spring cruise. I am going to try and replace the 02 and if that doesn't work the m30 maf and 19lbers are coming out and stock stuff going back in. the m30 swap is a distant dream now. :(

sure man *th-up* pm me some pics, mod/maint list & price.
Will do man.

Just yank all that shit out, put it back to factory and get it running right first, enjoy it a little so you fall in love again, then proceed from there. Rule #1, love thy car.

Thats the plan but if the love doesn't come back I have a 4dr 98 328i as a back up lover that I have my eye on.

:D but most people will tell you red is a flashy color that does draw attention, especially while driving (fast)

Deals4wheels seemed to be giving the same price on falkens as 1010tires.com

except with 1010 you still need to pay shipping.

If 1010tires is still in BC, you pay no PST though. It worked out better for me in the past.

edit: tiretrends.com has always got my business, they're in BC.

There is really not much in ottawa. a few months ago there was a n 87 or 88 4 door 325i for about $1000 but i missed out on that one.

also some dude with a similar vintage one in carleton place for awhile, but i never saw what it was like. around $600

good luck in your search for that fourleaf clover ;)
