As of right now i have a very good condition 1984 318i. I also own a second m10 engine that i am planning on going turbo with and put in the car.
BUT, today i came across a 1987 325i with a rotten frame but a half decent body and interior and a great engine and tranny. Now I am perplexed. Do i turbo my m10 and have an extra m10 for a spare, OR do i buy the 325i for $500 , swap the engine and tranny into my 318i and be done with it? I am also wondering what else would i need to do to my 318i to accept the m20 swap? I just put new H&R sport springs and Bilstein shocks on the 318i, could these stay?
Please get back to me guys, I need to let the guy know if I want the car soon.
thanks
Larry

Stick to turbo, then use the extra money to swap to rear disc trailing arms.

do this for best bang for $$$:

- m20 (compression & leak down must be good)
- cheap used turbo kit (mosselman? TCD stuff is even better)
- megasquirt
- some bigger injectors and/or RRFPR

if you are able to diy all of the above, you'll get a seriously fast e30 (300-350hp) on the budget

there are PRE-MADE turbo mani's for the E30 318.
