Hey,

My friend and I are both looking for e36s. The coupe for me (well i'm not 100% sure yet), the sedan for him. Must be 5spd and 325i/is or 328i/is, 1993-1999 and NO rust.

Thanks,

Flaviu

What is still different on it from an M3?

honestly, just the interior peices and the skirts..

mechanically it is an M3, you can talk to Rocco about it.

are the subframe mount points reinforced like they are on M3 ?

His subframe IS the m3 subframe.

His subframe IS the m3 subframe.

I was talking about the subframe mounting points on the body that tend to tear away with some "spirited" driving, especially when the Mpower is part of the equation.

to be honest, you'd be 'lucky' to find a post '95 Bimmer with No rust for that price (especially ones that are no accident) and even luckier to find one pre-'95 that meets your requirements.

I lucked out on a '97 for under 5g's, no accidents, minor rust but higher mileage.

Hmm well now budget has increased somewhat. I'm looking for preferably a coupe up to around 6500 depending on condition etc, and I know 328s are kind of out of the question.

6500 'may' be doable, but you need to be picky on the body and if there are other failures.

I just saw a 96 328is 272km 5spd. $6000

The good and the bad is that it was repainted, looks flawless, but you don't know what's underneath, and of course the mileage. The car looked very clean otherwise, even the interior was 9.5/10. This was my last try at a dealer. The bastard wouldn't let me drive unless I left a deposit and would agree to buy the car if it drove well. :moon:

EDIT: It does come with 3 year powertrain warranty. So do you think engine-wise the mileage would be a problem?

powertrain warranties are fluff.. they are useless.
