Euro ellipsoids with City Lights???????

Over the weekend, i installed the e30 euro ellipsoid with city lights....the only question i have is......i hot wired the city lights to parking lights. But now the city lights are also on with the projectors....should that be the case????
Do i need to increase the amp on the fuse..????? With the city lights on....will the bulb burn more frequently?????????

I bought my car with the lights already installed but that is how they work too. No fuses blown.

I have a E30 Touring from Germany and that's the exact case with my car. The 'city' lights are on even with headlights on.
