Is this from M3?

because original M3 bumper won't fit on e46 sedan and coupe..

If it is for sedan and coupe, did you get this bumper from the dealer?

because you states that it is an original...

M3 fenders are wider in the front. If its OEM then modifications will be needed to fit it on a non-M. Good luck with the sale

So what you're saying is... an OEM E46 M3 bumper will fit any E46?
theres a DIY on making it fit, has something to do wit the re-bar and requires some extensive modifications.

First time i hear that it will fit no problem. There ARE however, afternmarket M3 bumpers designed for non-M cars that use OE material.

GL with the sale

The OEM M3 bumber will not fit on a non M car (coupe or sedan) I have a 330ci and had an OEM M3 front bumper and it would not fit. it is at least a couple of inches wider on either side and would require m3 fenders to fit correctly. Rolling the front fenders won't do anything either. I am a licensed bmw automotive technician and have been working on the product for a number years and have ncountered this problem with my own vehicle. hope i could clear some things up. Keep in mind I actually mounted the M3 bumper on my car so I visually saw the difference.

dunno about that, but i called and consulted all of the service managers and service staff at marenello bmw .. and they said otherwise.

It is entirely possible. You have to adjust the brackets. Sometimes you get good fitment, sometimes it is off by a little, but it is and can be done even if the M3 is wider.

Lots of posts about this on e46fanatics.

I don't think it would fit. Post the model number of the part.

From the e46fanatics writeup - DIY

3 Bumper
51 11 2 695 241
euro bumper without corner lenses.

51-11-2-695-245
US spec bumper with cut-outs for the placement of corner lenses.

In order to do this retrofit it is very important to purchase an M3 front bumper for a 2001 M3 or older. The 2002 and on M3s used a carbon fiber reinforcement bar instead of the metal bar that the non-M cars have. The newer bumper is very different on the inside, pay close attention to this issue.

I'd be interested if it fits too. :)

Take a look at these pictures. Sedan with OEM M3 Bumper.

Here's the guys finished result. Looks great.
I always thought this was the process to installing a M3 bumper on a non M car.... or pulling the fenders out etc.

IT WILL FIT (maybe the coupes a little better than sedans).

It may not be perfect, but it will fit. For the absolute perfect fit, you may have to do the cutting/bondo route, but it's not necessary. Read the link below.

alot of ppl in the dealership are stupid, especially those behind the parts counter... The OEM M3 bumper is wider than a 3-Series. But just like everyone has said, it WILL fit but you'll have to make modifications to make it look flushed with the side fenders.

Exactly. Most of the parts guys and service managers don't know too much about retrofits/mods. It will fit, but not great. It is NOT going to be a perfect match. Take a look at the pictures I attached. They don't lie. It will be off by an inch or so, with a gap.

It is not going to "fit" like an OEM Mtech2 Front Bumper would or the regular OEM bumper. Mtech2 is a direct fit. A OEM M3 Bumper is not a direct fit.

Even on e46fanatics.com, it says, This will fit on okay, but will need some tinkering to fit flush with the stock non-m fenders

But, at this price, it's a steal and worth the hassle to "make it fit".

Please post the part number to determine what year the bumper came from.
