European Lacoste Golf Shirts

Older Feeler: http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89390

These shirts are from France, hence they are a little different (very hard to notice) then the American ones we usually see here. The sizes are a little more fitted then the American ones also. They come brand new, with a price tag of 72 euros.

Retail : $95

My Price: $ 55

There are A LOT of fakes going around so, main Points to look out for to make sure they are real:

- Sizes come from 1-7, NO - Medium, Large Ect.
- The main tag “ Made in Peru, Designed in France”
- The detail of the crocodile on the tag – should see white eyes
- The main tag should have Lacoste spelled right everywhere
- The placement of the stitched crock should be just under last button
- The stitched crock should have very small, but visible black teeth
- The inside tag should have *Devanlay* written
- The buttons should have a very slight pearl to then when exposed to light
- You should not be able to see your hand if you place it inside the shit. ( non-transparent)

Please don’t bash my thread unless you are 100% sure what you are saying is true. Do your homework.

Here are the pictures ever :

The picture of the "fake" you posted is just a bad fake. You should really stop advertising these as Real shirts unless YOU are 100% sure they're real.

I have several shirts purchased directly from Lacoste, both here in Canada/US and from Europe. I've even gotten a couple fakes as gifts from people (cheap bastards).

First of all, i'm making the assumption that your making SOME money outta this deal and as a result that goes to show that theres gotta be SOMETHING up with these shirts for you to be picking them up for that cheap. Its not like they're $10 off the actual price (which would still be a helluva deal).

Secondly, maybe Lacoste has changed this over time, but out of ALL the shirts i have (even the fake ones) none of them have the "Designed in France, Made in Peru" right under the size tag on the collar.

Lastly, even the shirts that i DO have, only ONE of them say that its made in Peru. The rest say that they are made in Morroco. Remember, these were purchased directly from the Lacoste store.

Anyways, the shirts look like they're very decent quality and worth $55, but they seem WAY too cheap to be true/real. And on the forums you know the saying when somethings too good to be true!

Any mediums left?

As far as I can tell they look legit, but I would like to see a clearer pic of the buttons (take pictures of 2 different shirts, because each button should be unqiue in its own way... not the same because counterfeiters make them in bulk.)

See if they pass this test too: http://www.1gcs.com/fake_lacoste/

NOTE: I have been in contact with a few lacoste suppliers and if you purchased these from anywhere between $15-25 a shirt chances are they're fake.

Hmmm...

-The corck passes that test
-The rear tag passes that test
-The button is a bit different however. Still has that pearl shine and edges are smooth but the edges seems smaller.
- The material seams a little different too. Hard to tell.
- And the price tag would apear FAKE according to this test.

They cost me more the $15-25 a shirt.

BTW - Red - size 5 sold

Went to the lacoste store near my office to take a look at some jackets, while I was there I looked at their tags on the polo shirts,

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/6070/papertaglargekr7.jpg

The B in ausschlieBlich is actually a ß, and the S in Selective wasn't capitalized.

Google: http://www.google.ca/search?q=ausschlieblich&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
vs.

Oh yeah, and the little plastic T thing that holds the label onto the clothes wasn't cheap looking like that one. It was nice, clear, and thinner.

ya, the material of the shirts isn't the same as the legit ones.

Guess you better start selling these as replica's!

My main concern is false advertising. People might/will buy these with the assumption that they're real and when they realize they're fake, they'll realize they coulda just gotten fake ones for less (like the ones you can get!)

I care if they're fakes, I only buy authentic gear.

Those buying fake lacoste shirts are the same people rockin fake Rolex and Tag's. *thmbsdwn* Meanwhile they go and put down people with m3 badges on their e36's :D

2 things:

1) the crock has 2 eyes. on the shirts, the crock emblem has no eyes showing properly. the tag is fine, but the one stitched on the shirt is not.

2) the crock is suppose to be between the first button and the lower stitching. Not alligned with the lower stitching.

Reason why people dont want fakes:

a) they are made from sweat shops and probably have no control over how they are made. The real deal is usualy made in a much better factory where the employees are treated much better.

b) a Fake shirt for 55$? Why? I can buy a real one for 70 to 80$ when they go on sale. For a few dollars more I get the real thing.

c) The only reason why people even want to wear lacoste shirts is because of a status symbol and because they are nice shirts. Defeats the purpose of wearing a lacoste shirt if its fake.

Its like driving around in a Civic, that has side skirts, and emblems to make it look like a BMW. Ya sure you can do a good job and make it look similar, but its not a BMW.

-edit-

damn mirek was quick regarding the Bmw comment.

If these are fakes, than they are probably the highest quality replicas you can get. Just as a side note, did the color abrev. match up to the shirts actual color?

and that's why the world will always have both markets... some people are picky and some people aren't.

clothes are a lil bit different than a BMW, by the way... a shirt is a shirt... a suit is a suit... I wouldn't buy any brand name suit.. Armani, Boss, whatever, over a custom tailored suit.. yet the price is a couple dollars cheaper on the custom suit, not on sale..

seriously don't know anymore. Got some people telling me that these are from euro hence they are different then what we see here in Canada and others believe they are fake.

Sold my first 8 shirts (5 different people) without any complaints. If people start completing i'll guess i'll jsut stop selling.

Blue - size 6 - sold

You won't get complaints, cause those people buying the shirts, know they're not getting a real shirt.

The differences between fakes and reals are not always the looks.... maybe noobs cant tell between fakes and reals and dont care..

but it's always better to buy the real deal because after washing it for many times, the real Polo will still be in great /excellent condition while the fakes will get the little bumpy balls..

i got lacoste polos at their stores for 40 plus tax they had a 50% off their last ticketed price. So if these are fake, they are way over priced.
