Man......

I have had my rear wing painted on two seperate occasions. It cracked AGAIN!. Its a Hartge rear M3 style wing, I can't understand why it always cracks. I think it is fibreglass with foam core.

POS! ARG!!!

Is it a replica? That could be your answer
I've had no problems with my OEM m tech spoiler

Is it a real or a replica.. ?
real = rubber foam
replica = fiberglass

Hey Mat ... your spoiler is foam...that =cracks!!! A replica (fiberglass) will =bad fit but high quality and no cracks!
There is nothing you can do about those cracks! I had the same problem when I had my M3 spoiler...

88 is much easier for modifications. Tell him to go with that year or higher.

My kit is a eurostyle e36 m3 front and a reiger rear.

As for the spoiler, it is a fibre glass replica but it does have Hartge branded on it. It cracks in the paint, oh well what can you do?

tell him to go for the 89 or higher. the 88 still has the steel bumper..unless he likes that then go for the 88.

Mat,

If you go to a good body shop they will use a paint with a "flex" agent in it so it won't crack as easy. Check it out.

They used flex on the front bumper, but not on the rear wing. My fault for not telling them...

Oh well, the crack is very thin and hardly visible.

When you close the trunk do you push down on the wing or on the trunk lid?

If you want to slam the car to the ground, and put BIG wheels on it, get an 84-87 model. The rear wheel arches are much bigger, and looks better when it is slammed. You won't have the "rubbing" problem, and the car will look more "even".

Also, Try and get a 325i/is
