View Full Version : Rear Speaker Install??
12-27-2002, 01:13 AM
I have just purchased a set of 5 1/4" rear deck speakers for my E36 and I can not get them to fit.
Has anyone else come across this problem and any thought on a solution?
I am thinking about putting a wood bracket on top of the rear deck and installing them between the steel rear shelf and the parcel shelf...just a thought.

Well I'm not sure if my car is different (92 325i) but I have tiny 4" speakers in the rear. I upgraded them too, but I wish they were 6x9's... or at least 5 1/4 :(

Cars are the same, but every installation guide says that a 5 1/4" will fit in the stock location... very interesting

On the 4 door e36 with base stereo, the only speaker that u can properly fit in the original mounting box is a 4t speaker without modifying.

I have 8 in jl audio stealth boxes and they fit with no modification. Are 92 325 diff than 93?

if u look at the original mounting pod that your rear spekaers are in, there is no physical way a jl subwoofer would fit in it. What u are referring is the physical mounting psoition of the jl speaker pod, not the factory BMW speaker pod.
