It's time for me to put my S/Cer for sale. I'm going with a crazier set-up. (Turbo). The kit has about 1200km on it. And was hardly beat on. It was mainly used for show purpose. The kit produced 440rwhp @ Tag motorsports. It comes with the following items:
Rotrex C38-71 Trim Supercharger
Active Autowerke Cast Intake Manifold
Active Autowerke Water Alcohol injection Kit
Front Mounted air to air Intercooler
Active Autowerke By-Pass Valve
Larger Injectors and Spark Plugs
Active Autowerke Mass Air Meter Housing
Supercharger Oil Cooler
75m Pulley
K&N Air Filter
All mounting Hardware, Plumbing, Hoses and Clamps.

Sells for $12,000US but I think they just lowered the price to 10,900. I will be selling it for $8500 Can. You have to pay extra for the software. I'm hoping to get it off my car in march. You can see the car at IAC (Randys work) if you like. I NEVER HAD ANY problems with this kit and some of you that have gone for a spin car can testify that it runs great. PM me for more details.

If you need headers and exaust I'm willing to sell those as well.

I wouldn't say I'm wasting money, just enjoying my hobby. I want to be the first in Canada with a turbo e46 M3. As far as my hp goal:confused: I thought it was 450rwhp but I think over 600rwhp will do me fine this year.*shiner*

I would have put the car in Performance Auto & Sound Magazine before doing the change and then putting it in again. Your car worthy of a magazines front page.

But if I put it in now it will be hard to put it in again without changing more then just the FI set-up. I talked to Frank at PAS and it's not a problem to get in the mag now. I think that Chris at HPF(turbo) will like the fact that I haven't had the car in any Mags yet. It gives me more power to bargin the price because I will be showing thier product in more Mags.

Mark, you were right. Now i owe you a beer.*mumble*

Not that there's too many people in toronto who mod e46' m3's and don't know who fab is, but his car is always mint, most people here have seen/heard it, and its absolutley amazing.

Good luck with the sale man!

(i'm not sure if you listed it on bf.c, but try there too, and everyone, when you see tom, make him buy this. if he's keeping the s54 powere z3, he might as well make some more gears useless:P)

I hope to take it out in March. If you ned it before that it could be arranged. All I need is to know that it's sold to some one before I put the turbo in. Come on S54 people, this will make your car into a totally different animal. Not to mention being one of only a few in T.O with this kit. BUMP.

How much is the software? Do I have to send the ECU to AA?
And how much does it cost for installation?

JazzM
01-19-2007, 04:23 PM
Software is around 1200-1400 CAD (800 USD + overnight shipping both ways). It used to be 2000 USD for stage 2 and you will need to send your ECU to AA.

Installation is around 1-1.5 days (ca. 12 hours) based on the information on AA's website. So another $1000-1500 depending on where you go.

I'm getting my cams installed in the next few weeks. These will be CSL race cams (290/282 - much more aggressive then the schrick/dinan cams) also up from the stock 272/270 (thereabouts).

The main concern here is that AA would need to dyno-tune the software. They've agreed to do so for the same price, however it means I would have to go down there and do it there. I would probably have them install the kit at the same time.

The question then becomes how much power is actually then usable? With the cams, I should be approaching 380-400 at the crank with properly tunned software (delage). And I honestly believe for a little and light car like the Z3 that will be more then enough (I can already keep up with a C5 Z06 on a straight and can walk all over a 911 turbo mostly due to the 4.10:1 gearing).

If the issue is getting to AA, I'll gladly take a week off to drive your car there to have it installed, and deliver it back for you :)

Get the supercharger then run a taller diff, so you're not shifting before you even make it across an intersection. Something like a 3.64 or 3.73. Maybe you could hit 300 on the back straight at Mosport:eek:

The power is always usable, you'll just need to use the first couple gears diligently. You can fit some wide rubber in the back of your car right? Once the camber is sorted (if it's not already) you'll have no issues with traction.

JazzM
01-23-2007, 03:19 PM
I can go up to 305 or 315s in the back on 11 wide rims without having to pull the fenders. Camber is not a problem, I have the adjustable camber plates to dial it out.

This is definitely very tempting... :)

I'm going to have to pass on this one at this point. Perhaps later on in the future. But, for now, I need to focus more on fine tunning the suspension and brakes (ducts). The next major project will be the installation of the camshafts and a ABS/DSC retrofit (got all the control units from a 01 M roadie).
