Other than the colour( I hate that colour with a passion), looks like a decent buy. Looks like there is no visible rust(which is a plus).
What year, what KM, pic of interior?

They will NOT fit. E32/E34 are interchangeable. I told Paul months ago that I found another buyer for those lights, but he doesn't seem interested in moving them.

Yes, and even smilies won't work, they have slightly different buckets (US and Euro's), not to mention that E30 buckets don't fit (obviously).

H1's, and go for 4300, they look simply awesome in the euro housings. Completely stock, but TONS of light everywhere.

Hound
01-15-2007, 11:07 PM
actualy they will be fine, I've looked into it, they are roughly 2-2.5 times as bright has halogen's so that's fine. I plan to do 5000k in the highs, and 3000k in the fogs. Here is a pic of 10,000k with 3000k fogs on an E46:

http://www.xenonking.com/gallery1/3000/images/3K%20(2).jpg

here is 10,000k on a Honda Pilot:

http://www.xenonking.com/gallery1/10000/images/10K%20Honda%20Pilot.jpg

A bit about 10,000k:

10000K has an approximately 2200lm output, which is more than 2x the light output of the traditional halogen light. 10000K produces a deep blue light output approaching violet and the blue is noticeably deeper than the 8000K.

I agree with Paul. its what I woulda done too is get 5000k but the 6000k came up at the right time for the right price so i couldnt pass it up. Now 2nd problem. you say 5000k for the highs. u know its not good to use em for the highs... as its gonna take a long time to get HIDs up to temp, so then u loose the capability to flash ppl. and its bad to flash HID bulbs too...

Hound
01-16-2007, 12:02 AM
it's just a thought, I will see I think once I get the HID's in, I know I want 3000k in the fogs though.

Axxe
01-16-2007, 01:06 AM
seriously sean, 10,000k is just a visual upgrade, doesn't really improve the lighting performance much. if you want blue, go for 6000k, it's a good compromise.

i'd stay away from those. they are TOO new for the E32.
Is there anything called an eurostrip which removes the side markers for E32? I'd go with this.

well the reason i'd like to is I like how clean they look and prefer the brightness, I like to be seen, that way there is noone saying I didn't see you, when/if they hit me.

yea paul S38 with manual would be awesome but, I would want the euro 6spd and euro spec engine (a true S38)

what u mean by true s38? they are pretty much all the same... at least the main engine.. just the earlier s38s had less compression... that tranny u speak of is hard to find. gl with that unless u find a whole 3.8 lump from a euro 95 m5.

BTW s38 in a e32. Pimp. You guys are awesome :D

im serious lol

By true I mean euro spec.... Not a US spec, or did all the US spec M5's that are around have euro spec motors? I know for example that the E36 M3 is an M50B32 or w/e, whereas the euro M3 has a S50B32 or w/e.

We aim to please rudy :P :D

Nice car!

As for the lights I'd seriously recommend to read http://danielsternlighting.com/
Very knowledgeable and helpful guy, great technical info and great products.

I got CIBIEs CSR for my e24 from him and couldn't be happier, although they're a bit expensive:
http://dsl.torque.net/images/CSR_Lowbeam.jpg
http://dsl.torque.net/images/CSR_Highbeam.jpg

He also have regular CIBIEs euro headlights. CIBIE produce a very high quality lights, if you'll get some of them you'll see what I am talking about.

thanks for that info *th-up* I am being somewhat picky though as I would like to get the S38B38 engine, with the 6 speed, which only came in short production. I may end up with the S38B36 but I hope to find the S38B38 and tranny first :)

TheMadChigga

why an s38? they are not all that fast in an e34, it'll be even slower in an e32.

Hound
01-24-2007, 04:22 PM

ok sam what engine should I put in? maybe a 760 motor and upgrade the turbo :P and add a BOV YOH!!. Or I could put in a 2JZ and add NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOZZZZZZZZZZZZ :D

S38 is expensive to maintain, its complicated, let's say you got lucky and got the 3.8L and 6spd, you'll be shelling out good several grand, the 3.8L only has 340hp with like 260 or something lb of torque. And that's if you can find one, most likely you'll get a 3.5L, and that's even slower, an e39 540 can easily out accelerate an e34 m5 from 0-100km/h, they simplly don't have enough torque stock. A stock E34 M5 does like low 14s stock in the 1/4, + another couple hundred pounds, you'll be lucky if you can break mid 14s, personally I think that's very laughable, unless you go turbo, then you would dump another 10k or more into an engine that you can't get parts from regular parts places.

unless you are extremely mechanically inclined, I honestly don't see the point of spending so much money and go so slow. Not to mention have you seen how much S38 parts are now days??? its cheaper and faster just to buy an e34 m5 instead of doing that whole swap.

Most logical thing is rebuild the engine you have and turbo it, if swap is a must, I can only see m62 being another logical one, good torque, good power, lot cheaper parts.

and remember, any swap will give you huge amount of headache.

chevale

so they just leave the stock ecu to handling the fuel? thru their spec list for the 635, I only see an RRFPR was added for fuel, and MSD for igintion. And that's pretty decent for amount of the power it makes.

a nice kit,
THAT is hard to find for an e32. I've tried. I wanted the Racing Dynamics style but I don't think you can buy it anymore. Like this. The others seem to bulky and take away from the look. The last one I like more, but you have to import it from Japan I think

GOT PICS?

Before I bought my e32, your car was my inspiration to look for an e34, but finding a 5spd 535 sedan or touring is HARD. The few I found had ridiculous pricetags. So I now have an e32. The E34 M5 is still a desire though

Julian has the M Tech skirts on the front and rear if memory serves. Actually the kit that I would like is the Alpina one, yes I know it'll be hard to find but that is my goal is to find it. As for the tranny, I may actually go and get it rebuilt to handle the power (if possible) if not then yes 5spd, or 6spd *angel* is in order I think.

Can't wait to be seated next to the B11 man, pure hotness :D I think that's why I like the E32 so much ;)

Thanks Terry, I really like the way it sits as well.

I do have rims and tires ready to be put on it when spring comes, they are OEM BMW style 138's:

http://www.e60.net/information/options/wheels/style138/1.jpg

I have Eagle F1 GS-D3's going on them, 245/40/17's

Before you guys say that those don't belong on the car etc. etc. These are being given to me by my dad from the E60 so I can't complain and I personaly like them. But have no fear, I will be putting on 19's or 20's eventually.

Here is a chop I did of what the car should look like with the 17"s on it should be lower though as I will have 40 profile tires on instead of 60. it's a bad chop but i just did it quick so meh :P

well I just got back from the tire place, they are a no go. Something to do with where the Hub meets the wheel they are two different sizes, and when the wheel goes on it's close to touching the spring. :(

Mystikal
03-10-2007, 12:34 PM
Too bad I never saw the thread, I could have told you about the hub size issue. E39 and newer 5's have 74.1mm hubs, other BMWs have 72.6mm. Just get centering rings from Tirerack.

And that wheel is 17x8 ET20. I don't think it should have any suspension contact issues.

Hound
03-10-2007, 12:58 PM
so they will fit jay? If so that sure does brighten up my day. They are listed as 17x7.5 so yea, there shouldn'thave been any problems...

Mystikal
03-10-2007, 05:44 PM
Yeah, just get the metal centering rings from Tirerack and mount them up.

And don't ever go back to that tire shop again, they're not the brightest.

Axxe
03-10-2007, 05:47 PM
Jay, I thought E60's went back to the 72.6 mm hub bore, did they not?

Mystikal

Wait, you're right.

Even more reason to run away from that shop.

Hey I might have missed it but what kind of suspension did you go with?

I never liked the look of the smoked reflector corners I preferred the normal clears and clear sides. Unfortunatly though my car was sold before I could get a chance to take the stock taillights off and put in clear rears.

Ah, leave them on. Gives the car more of a unique look, and makes people (like me) wonder. ;)

Hound
05-08-2007, 04:37 PM
i might, although they are off center and that bugs me :D I was just going to leave them but we'll see, for now they will stay cause i'm just too lazy to take them off :D.

Hey while on the topic (sorta), what do you think, some people have been telling me I should debadge it, what are your thoughts man?

Seven
05-08-2007, 06:00 PM
I'm almost positive I'm going to debadge mine. I think it looks much cleaner. Go for it!

I still worry a bit about faded paint, and thus an outline of where the badge used to be. But most people say this isn't an issue.

Lol ... was joking with Ado at the cruise about taking off the 740i and putting 2002 or M3 in it's place. Haha, but before I get flames thrown at me ... rest assured, I'm NOT going to do this!!

Hound
05-09-2007, 07:46 AM
haha, do eeet, 2002 Tii badge FTW!! :D

I think I will try it, guess it can always go back on. Thanks for the input.

P.S. What's up with the GB?

Seven
05-09-2007, 10:26 AM
Ooooh, GB ... I was wondering what you meant .. gigabyte, Green Bay, glove box, gastric bypass ... I could go on ... but I think you mean group buy.

That's a good question man. I posted an update in the original thread late last week. Bimmian still hasn't gotten back to me with pricing, dispite me contacting them a couple times to follow up. I was really hoping to have things sorted out before the cruise, but that obviously didn't happen. I wish I had more to tell you. I'm starting to fear that the warnings a few people gave about Bimmian are more the case than not. If it was just me I'd walk away, the interest in the gb was pretty good though, so I'm hoping that we don't have to disappoint everyone.

Hound
05-09-2007, 11:17 AM
yea, that's really poor, I mean sure they are giving a discount but at the end of the day they have like 20 people wanting to place orders and they can't be bothered to even get back with a price? poor business ethics (or w/e) if you ask me. I still want to do it as I'm sure most of those on there do as well. Thanks though for your time you are putting into this bro *th-up*
