I found this on another site:

THE BMW 330 Ci is the reference car of sportscartesting.com. And now it comes with even more power. The all-new Performance Package for the 2003 330i Sedan will make its debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show on January 2nd, 2003. The 330i sedan continues to win comparison test after comparison test on the strength of its performance and handling prowess.

The 330i Performance Package has been created exclusively for the U.S. market for enthusiasts by enthusiasts at BMW Individual, a division of BMW M GmbH. Modifications to the 3.0-litre in-line 6-cyl. engine, which include different camshafts and performance-modified Digital Motor Electronics, yield a ten horsepower increase to 235.

For the first time in a 330i a 6-speed manual transmission will be standard. With the Performance Package it will include a short-throw shifter. The package also includes a shorter final drive ratio. Modifications we think are just great.

The benefits of these modifications are immediately apparent - the 330i with a Performance Package will accelerate from 0 - 60 miles-per-hour in 6 seconds, about half a second faster than a standard 330i.

WHEN WE POINTED out the similar 330 Ci as our reference car we explained:

“Last week the test team went to our test track Ring Knutstorp, Sweden to drive for the answer – is the BMW 330 the correct choice for reference car right now? The top speed at the end of the straight as fast as Porsche Boxster S and faster into Measure Point 1 as the Lotus Elise were the answers we were looking for: 330 Ci is the car to beat right now.” (Sportscartesting.com)

Sweet, I think its about time BMW puts an end to the G35 Coupe....

Yeah I read about this on DTM power. Well I can just say wow a whole 10 extra hp, great!!! (sarcasm). Knowing BMW the price will be $10000 more for this extra hp, big fu*ken deal, I would rather buy the normal 330ci and chip it for $400 bucks and then be laughing at this "performance package" Though the 6spd would be the only reason I would get it.

Its the principle that matters most, saying, No, i dont own the 330ci, i own the performance 330ci.....:huh?:

well, if you dont want the new 330i, then buy a 330ci without the facelift, and sooner or later put the 6spd tranny into the 330ci

From what I'm reading on the net, this Performance upgrade will only be available for the 4 door, no the 2 door.

Possibly to close the gap on the new '03 Audi S4?
Also to make up for the nonexistance of a 4 Door M3?

3 months from now you will be able to get SMGII I bet. Same as M3 but software will be limited to fewer modes.
that's my prediction.
