nice!
i think i recognize that page because it has a section on Turbocharging Fieros.
The nissan engine doesn't look so bad in there. It almost looks like the M50 but with only 4cylinders

there are quite a few bmw's with supra TT engines in them in the far east, i think malaysia started that trend.

I'd take one in a heart beat. Hey, it still looks and handles like a bimmer.

The best way to extract tons of power is by forced induction.
BMW motors get expensive when you start force feeding them.
I supra bottom end can make 600hp without touching the internals.
Nissan has some of the best engineered motors for the price. Dude Nissan has the all mighty Godzilla under its belt. The GT-R!!
Most of what they did to the RB26DETT to make it bomb proof trickled right down to the SR20DET. 25 psi Sure no problem!!!

Have you ever taken apart a sr20det?
all I can say is BULLET PROOF! You should envy the way the crank is bolted to the block. Or the oil squirters they have under the cylinders that spray a mist of oil to keep the pistons cool. True you find these squirters in the M50-52 motors but how much do they cost?
And they make sooooo many go fast bolt ons for those motors.
I've done a couple SR20DET swaps into tame truck motor 240sx's
and I am damn impressed. If I had a limited budget and I wanted to go fast I would buy a 240sx and drop in the SR20DET. Screw the B16/B18 swaps...I want rear wheel drive and a turbo.
So don't knock solid engineering.

But I have a supercharged 6.............so I wouldn't.

And me personally I would not drop any motor other than a BMW motor into my BMW. Unless some rich dude came to my shop and wanted a twin turbo LS1 dropped into their 5 series and had the bags of money on had to back it up.

Just my two cents

I have to agree that conversion is pretty cool. BUT??

I have thought about a turbo supra motor for my E30 but came to the conclusion I would rather go slow and have a nice clean bmw motor then go fast with rice under my hood.

Looks kinda crazy though

that "rice" motor will run like 10s even in E36 all day long...if it can do it in a 3300lbs supra..it will do it in a 2700lbs E30!

No true BMW enthusiasts can ever apreciate a non BMW engine in a BMW or either they are on crack, I agree with BMWM5lover, it makes me sick.

You're entitled to your opinion *th-up*... I am actually swapping in a BMW motor in mine this summer. But I still respect all type of swaps like my friend's Volvo 240 with an LT1 or the sleeper of the year a DSM's Hyundai Accent (serious).

But if you think that its pathetic, crazy pointless, gay etc... wouldn't badging up your car fall into the same category for the BMW purist/enthusiast?

NickP, yeah, badging Your car if it does not deserve the badge is also not cool according to me, but I still feel a little stronger against changing the heart of a car than overbadging. but, to all his own.

Overbadging your car doesnt bother me non. There is nothing bad in wishing and hoping and dreaming!
*angel* *angel* (most of us are all guilty on that...heheheeheheheh)But im definitely not FOR engine swaps like such. I mean ptting an a stronger, more powerful BMW engine into ur Bimmer im fine with, but something like this, i dont like.
( you better believe it, im gettinf an ///M for the back!!!!*shiner* *shiner* *devil* *devil*
