View Full Version : How can I know my strut size 45 or 51mm (E30)

Hi, I'm looking to by a complet suspension from this company: http://www.ap-sportfahrwerke.com/frame.cfm?ID=68768&key=52793626

And I want to know my spring strut size (strut diameter), 45mm or 51 ?
My ride is a E30 325i 1989...

I could be wrong...but here it goes...325is and 325es have the shorter 45mm sport shocks and all others have the 51mm.

If i'm wrong then please correct me!

Dave, you're wrong, and do you still want those headlight housings? They soon will be paying a visit to Mr Garbageman.

The 1989 325i definitely used 51mm diameter struts, the 45mm's were used by the 84,85 318i's among others which I forget (I think the plain jane non i non e 325's).

Awh crap! You are right Nick! I was thinking of something else! *drunk* And yeah I could still use those headlight housings! I totaly forgot about them. I'm going to Buyers Bush in Missasauga on Friday to get a set of wheels powdercoated. Maybe we can meet there?
