Mr seville
11-28-2002, 05:56 PM
the damn intercooler is bigger then the car:D

11-29-2002, 12:48 AM
Santa, I want one of those.

11-29-2002, 01:00 AM
Like to see the finished product! *devil*

11-29-2002, 10:13 AM
Here's what the car looks like... The engine is a M5 3,8L..

11-29-2002, 10:19 AM
My kinda car. Not too much to look at, but take her up for a challenge, and ur in for an a$$ whoppin'. *devil*

If it was done professionally, musta cost a pretty penny though.....

11-29-2002, 10:35 AM
Yup.. with this car you can do like this to most people trying to pass you... *wave*

The owner is working on the looks, but so far he has put his effort into power... he actually means it has potential of about
800bhp!!

Guess it has costed quite a bit yes, but he's done most of the work himself, so that'll save quite a lot of money..

11-29-2002, 11:42 AM
800hp in a e30, that's like, 9sec 1/4 mile? What kinda bmw gearbox can take 800hp!

How have they come up with the 800hp value? Any dyno runs? 0-60 time????

Need more info about the mods in the engine bay :) What turbo is he running? What ecu? What engine mods? What gearbox?

11-29-2002, 12:43 PM
He hasn't got 800hp yet, but he thinks it has potential for 800hp...
He hasn't dyno'ed it either.. just done a rough mapping yet...
BUT he has been one time to the strip with it and with only
1,2kg boost pressure, he made a time of 11,03..... keep in mind that it isn't built/set up for dragracing=lots of wheelspin! His highest finish speed was 221km/t.

Engine facts : S38 B38 engine, lowered compression, Mahle pistons, homemade turbo manifold, piping, head gasket, intecooler ++, Turbonetics T72 turbo, Autronic Sm2 engine
management system, bigger injectors ++ The engine cost at the
moment is at about 18000USD including purchase of the engine itself.

Gearbox is original M5, pressure plate from Alpina B7 turbo with zinter clutch. complete E28 535 rear suspension, diff, driveshafts etc... :)

11-29-2002, 06:54 PM
THATS a crazy motor whats the website url! !!

11-29-2002, 08:19 PM

DAMN!! Look a the F******* Intercooler!
with 800hp in a 3.8L he must have nearly as much torque! enough dig trought the Tarmac!

even if he dont reach 800hp yet it must be at least 500! damn and it look parfectly Sleeper that's how i like it! lol i just imagine the Little Civic Boy with His little NOS systme thinking his hotter then this bimmer! lol
bye bye

11-29-2002, 09:54 PM
M_Powered... Unfortunately he hasn't got any homepage or anything... picked up the pictures and info in another forum.

Sylak... With this car you can wave goodbye to almost anyone... *wave*

11-30-2002, 12:45 AM
with the torque that engine will produce I figure it will rip the engine off the mounts or twist the car all to hell..Does it have anything done to the frame?. That is crazy!!
Lovin it...*devil*

11-30-2002, 12:53 AM
....yeah that's what I was thinking. People break motor and tranny mounts with 200hp. 300hp and the rear diff might go aswell.

11-30-2002, 10:10 AM
Jase.. Don't know if he has done anything to the frame, but i guess it would be smart to strenghten it in some way :)

Robert79... Don't think the engine and tranny mounts will cause any problems at 300 or even 400 hp. Of course with an engine like this you have to strenghten them, but i think the original ones will cope with quite a lot of power. When it comes to the rear diff, Bmw diffs are pretty strong so compared to other brands they can take a lot of beating...

11-30-2002, 08:34 PM
this car is sooo sik, the engine, intercooler and look!!!
that intercooler makes jap car intercoolers look puny, lol
i love it, turbo e30 w/that engine, must be a rocket
give us some more info on it

where is this car from??

11-30-2002, 11:16 PM
The car is in Sweden.. There are a few REALLY wild Bmw 3 series cars in Sweden actually. It started off with a couple of Supras which ran really fast 400m strips (10,17 or something), then a Bmw E21 came and gave them competition, then another e21, then a e30 and the story goes on. :)

The car in question here has run low 11's so far, but will be quicker next summer. Another e30 with m50 with turbo has run 10,8 and then there is a e21 over there which has run 9,5 but that car is built for the strip.

Another thing is that they don't seem to care too much about their cars looks, they care more about power! :)

haha, europe is the shit! *th-up*
thats wat id like to c more of ever here...
some turbocharged bimmers tearing it up *uzi*
good to hear about some the scene over there in sweeden
see if u can get a video of this thing, wanna c that lil beast run
or of other fast rides too

12-01-2002, 02:02 AM
uhhhh uhhhhh, e30/m50 that does 10sec ...... can get it's specs? stock engine? what turbo? what ecu?

12-01-2002, 02:11 AM
Amazing!!

12-01-2002, 12:59 PM
Robert... Believe it or not, but the engine is pretty stock. It's built upon a M50 engine from '92. The pistons are shaved off a little bit (compression is 8,5:1) and the top is lightly polished. Nothing else is done to the engine itself.

He has built the turbo manifold himself, has a Holset HX40 turbo, 45mm wastegate, 60mm dump valve, 511cc injectors(4,5bar fuel pressure), two 220l/h Bosch fuel pumps, Haltec E6M engine management system, M&W ignition system and uses Race fuel. He has run a time of 10,9/212,3 km/t.

Here's a picture of the engine bay.. :D

12-01-2002, 01:04 PM
Chrome.... Here's a movie of the E21 doing 9,5/241Km/t... *th-up*
Go into "Filmer" and pick the "Bmw 9,50 Repa". The engine is actually built upon a 2,7L M20 engine!! Niiiiice engine!!! :D

12-01-2002, 03:12 PM
webbie, how is his gearbox/diff setup? Why did you choose an
e21 body, wouldn't an e30 with a m50 be better? Eeek, m20, eta engine? wouldn't the m50 be better?

On their page it says Autronics SM2, GT42 turbo for the BMW and Haltek, Holset turbo for the Escort.

12-01-2002, 05:50 PM
Robert... First, i don't own the e21. Next, i don't know why he chose the m20 engine... cheaper/easier to get hold of maybe..? But it sure produces enough power anyway.( i've bought his gt42 turbo by the way) :D

He uses a Ap racing zinter clutch, m3 e36 gearbox and oldsmobile rear axle..... like i said, built for the strip.

fake fake fake
Two diff cars. one is brown, one is whitish. (diff camera angles?)
anyways with that mod and power (prolly 340 hp), the whitish car should have 40 or 45 series tires and racing rims. i dont think that rim will withstand the power.
fake fake fake

Sorry just mho.
I want to reread the thread and change my opinion but Im too lazy to do it now. I may be mistaken but may be not. later.

What the hell is going on... the engine bay pic, it's now on a black car. WT !

Hey Alan put down that bottle HAHAHA lol

Yes, I even notice that the white car has stripe on the fender running all the way back. hmmmmm.:huh?:

12-05-2002, 10:43 AM
OK... I see i have to straighten things a little bit here. The two first pictures i posted ARE of the same car whether you believe it or not... It uses a S38 turbo engine.

The picture i posted of the black engine bay (third picture), is of a completely different car that uses a M50 turbo engine.

Ahctuning.... I don't know in what conditions you are thinking of, but i think his rims can take the power just fine, and when it comes to grip on the strip for instance.... you don't use low profile tires. Higher profile tires with low air pressure gives a lot more grip. Here's a pic. of the Bmw with S38 turbo engine on the strip.... as you can see he uses different rims and tires there..

12-05-2002, 10:49 AM
AAAAAAAHHHH...... sorry guys.. I have to correct myself.. The second picture i posted wasn't of the Bmw with S38 turbo engine.. but the last one is.... My bad!!!

12-05-2002, 05:26 PM
That guy should race this guy:

12-13-2002, 10:08 PM
Hey man, i was just wondering if u have any idea how much that set up costs. I could use something like that.

:D :D

12-14-2002, 06:57 PM
Hey guys.. here's a really cool Bmw E30 M3 turbo site here in Norway.. Check it out!!

12-16-2002, 03:56 AM
very nice site webbie
some nice turbocharged engines in there
u have to be a member to watch the videos though that sucks
i cant read norwegian

thats s14 has a nice big turbo on it, looks beautiful *love*
do you know how much power that engine might be producing?

12-17-2002, 02:20 PM
Chrome... no..sorry, don't know how much power that s14 has got.

By the way... if you wanna take a peek at what's going on when it comes to norwegian streetracing, take a look at this site.... lots of cool vid's and stuff..
