how come you always write 3.25e instead of 325e...why the decimal point ?

dont take offence to it...i was just wondering what the logic was behind it ?!!!! HOPEFULLY your previous remark wasnt said in a smartass way..(it's hard to tell over the comp)...alot of people on this board have modded cars, so me asking isnt implying your an idiot !!...rather just seeing if you have something special.. go with a CAI. if your going to do a intake, its a couple bucks more but you will breath in cooler air..

it was meant in a sarcastic kind of way.

Good luck finding a cold air intake for an e30, its not like just goiing and gettin one at the local performance shop like it is for Honda's. They dont make em, at least not that i've found yet. your best bet is just to get a K&N inductin kit, thats comes with the cone style filter and needed mounting brackets, but that may suck in hot air too so i dunno. I plan on just changing my panel filter to a K&N drop in panel filter, I figure stock are boxes are put there for a reason by the engineers when the cars are built. but if someone does does know a company who makes the whole CAI for e30's let me know cuz i'd be interested

I have an actual K&N intake system that I bought off ebay. It has the pipe, fasteners and REAL 8" K&N cone. I am happy with it, it sounds great, but get a heat shield with it as well. You can get them from www.ecisbmw.com

Bavarian autosport has Heat sheilds available for E30's I think. www.bavarianauto.com If not, its not too hard to make your own, I managed to pick up an aluminium sheet for about $15 did a little bending and shaping. Some plyable round foam insulation around the top of the metal and your done, takes about 2 hours give or take. really isn't that bad. Although I can't say I noticed a huge difference...mabe a little in rush hour traffic when the car is sitting in the hot wheather but like it matters anyway when you can't go anywhere....
