FYI, the 3.91's out of IX's are viscous, so they aren't as popular as the clutch style LSD's normally used.

why are the not as good axxe? i read all the stuff about lsd diffs on the e30 forum (that took a wile*sleep* ) and what makes a viscous diff not as good? cus if its ok i would like a 3.91 lsd

It's prefference. Viscous diffs only react after one wheel starts to spin, giving a delayed response, and sudden oversteer. Clutch diffs react before wheel spin and kick the ass out consistently, every time. That said, 95% of E30 owners would not notice a difference, at all.

This is not always true either, with any LSD lube even clutch type diffs slip also....

Of course, it depends on conditions, grippiness of tires, lube, etc.
