I've actaully been meaning to ask this myself, is there any special procedure to painting them? Or just get out the primer and go nuts..........

I think its a bit too thin for your bumpers, I'd paint your bumpers.

I did the shadowline trim on my car using the blackout tape, turned out pretty good. Just do it when its warm n sunny out, I did it in the winter and it cracked when I was trying to put it on cuz of the cold.

I always thought you caould scuff it up and prime it..then use some satin black paint. As far as windshield trim and rear glass are concerned you can dye the rubber

there is also crome around the windows(back front) that need to be covered, hairdryer, and tape should do it

Yes, Scrappy Tire sells the stuff. It comes in 1 3/8ths X 20 feet. It only costs $5.79 + tax. I bought 2 rolls of the stuff and it cost $13.32, tax included. Go and get some before it's all sold out!!!:D

***This stuff is way better than electrical tape!!

Your best bet is to find the black locking strips and the metal corner pieces off a wreck. Shantaram (and their lovely customer service) had the front and rears and the piecces for about $40 or so. The locking strip inserting tool was about $20.

I was thinking about painting etc but I think it would chip fast. I also didn't think the paint would survive the reinstall process without flaking (the strips are bendable plastic). I think the tape would work as you can tuck it into the locking strips... You'd just have some visible seams at the top corners since there's no metal corner pieces there to hide the transition.

Windshields are on the front not the sides *drunk*

I'll be doing the sides this spring, I'm planning on removing them from the car and either powder coating them or using an etching primer / paint
