Would anyone have the fuel pump flow rates for the following:

91 318is
95 M3

As you might have guessed I am concerned if my 318is fuel pump will be sufficient to run the S50.

almost every1 i've seen is running stock e30 fuel pumps with their s50/2's.....you should be fine.

Ur 318 pump puts out more pressure than the engine needs, that's why there is a pressure regulator on ur S50.

pressure doesn't equal flow....

regarless of the FPR, u'r 318 should have enough for the S50... if it's anything like the M20 pumps (old school Bosch) u'r good to go.

I can understand you guys trying to help, but is there any one that would actually konw the flow rate of the 318is pump. It is a really easy calculation once I have the flow rate, but the damage could be enormous if it is leaning out. Don't really want to risk it.

On that note would be M3 fuel pump be easily interchangable into the 318. I haven't seen it, but I am guessing the intank pump should be similar in size (maybe slightly larger)?

Well your in luck... I checked my books, and foudn the Bosch pump (part no) used in u'r 318... By doing a search on google.. I came up with a Bosch page for the information on the pump.. 0 580 464 070...

http://www.sandtler.de/katalogangebote/artikeluebersicht/fuel_safe/benzinpumpen_bosch/bosch.htm

U'r pump is good for 195 l/h @ 3 BAR (max)..... so u'r good to go for over 400+ HP.

u'r fuel pump was used in the 325's as well up until 1987.

Yes i know the difference between flow and pressure. i jst didnt read wat he was askin properly *sleep* .

2nd, that pump info u posted was only used in 87 325is and 90-91 318i Convertibles ONLY, These e30's came equiped with 2 fuel pumps, 1 intank the other inline(pre-pump). the info u posted is for the inline fuel pump used in 87 and 318i convertibles
His car uses a late style pump that is also found in 325is which require only 1 intank pump.
try to get info on this bosch #69695. ill also try to get more specs on that # tommorow for u.

in that case you are correct... and that's sorta shitty... lol... I like the dual pump setup much better... I wasn't aware that they changed that

either way I wasn't able to find any specs on the pump... so if you were able to that would be awsome...

Ended up talkin to a shops forman @ BMW Autohaus when pickin up some parts today. He told me that info is not available since he has to search for it on one of his system. later called me with this.
the pump on 318/325is pushes out MAX 3.0Bars +/- 2 Max
also found this on Mitchell
