Here is the exact item...its Legecy Merbau hardwood..3/4 thick and 3 1/2 wide,prefinished..the colour is listed above..its called Cognac Red I think...I brought it too Home Depot and they are selling similar hardwood for $5.99 s/f-7.99 s/f..do your research Merbau hardwood is above average for durability and finish. My price is only $3.75 s/f...do your calculations for 650 s/f of hardwood..estimate savings will be about $1000cdn,and taxes and your savings is about $1200cdn..all boxes are brand new unopened..you can inspect each box...this is not cheap hardwood here..come pick up a sample (4 pieces only left)..

PM your phone number and I provide location for samples.

For those who dont know about Merbau its a exotic hardwood from Indonesia's remote Papua province...its rich in colour and tough...google and you can see the history of this hardwood.

^^ I work as an estimator for a commercial construction company and I have to say that is an incredible price for this type of flooring! Daytona's right, this stuff usually goes for at least twice the price he's asking.

Merbau is a quality hardwood and is very durable. It can be quite tough to cut though, you'll need the right saw blade or you'll gum up the teeth damn quick.

If I owned my own place, I'd be all over this. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks Hasselhoff (david??lol) finally someone who knows about this exotic wood....it lays down amazing rich colour and is extremely solid with little flex...not many stores carry this wood because of the expensive nature and the forresting importing problems associated with wood from that region

The wood looks great and the price seems attractive. However, does anyone know how much you'd need to fork out for the actual labour/installation of the flooring once it's bought?

Thanks.

You're probably looking at around an additional $3-5/ft for install, depending on where you go.

Bear in mind, you'll need to have a good (wood) surface to lay this stuff down on - something that'll allow the flooring to lay flat and the nails to grab into.

You can always rent the tools to do the job and do it yourself. It's really not that hard.

Yea if you're in an appartment you'll be installing a wood subfloor. Check out your locatioin before you buy this wood even though it's a really good deal.

daytona

Some rental appartment wont allow new floors installed by the renters, only by management, sames goes with Condos...

I'm surprised no one has taken these off your hands yet, to bad my condo is brand new & already has decent hardwood flooring or else I would have picked these up, definitely very nice flooring better than any flooring you will find in almost all condo's in TO

quack thanks for the bump....I surprised also since I got tons of inquiries before the photos...Its not like Im selling this exotic wood at full retail (about $5.99- up)..its $3.75 a savings of $2.24 s/f PLus no taxes. This is a very conservative estimate also on retail pricing Im sure its alot more..Im not a pro regarding hardwood flooring but compared to our house floors which cost $7.50 s/f these look alot better...

I would be all over this, but I have no idea the SQ footage I'm going to need in the new house yet... I ahve the floor plans, but I don't know if I'm going to want to put it in other rooms as well...

too bad you don't have more............:(

Yes I know..but its definitely enough for two decent rooms or one large one.The price is very low due to the fact that its not a large amount... the quality makes up for the quanity.Only two samples left..just say the people who picked a sample was very very impress with the quality of the wood..again the amount of available wood was abit of a problem.

daytona

Jazz you can but it cost double..and remember you can somewhat match the colour with other brands.Just has to be Merbau wood since its unique wood signature is different from North American hardwood...again I havent adverstise on any other forums yet..first shot for max bimmers..full stock can be viewed this week...

my friend would like to pick-up the 650sqft you have, but he needs to measure the rooms to be exactly sure if it's enough, he just bought the house last week so he hasn't moved in yet, do you have any samples left? just wanted to make sure it's the colour he wants.

daytona

another 300 s/f probably sold..depending if the "buyer" is serious..too many tire kickers..

thats for the bump I'm very surprise people are only buying sections and not the whole lot...I checked around and even the retailers sale price doesnt come close to my price, plus no %14 taxes...

Deep 3.2TL
08-15-2006, 06:05 PM
I honestly would buy the lot if you can tell me where I can get more of the same type if I need it... I'm not moving in for another 6 months or so, so I can' be 100% sure now as to how much I'll need. Also, how much extra is estimated to be required when measuring?

Thanks,

Deep

urggg "buyer" of the 300 s/f never showed (ahole)..not a maxbimmer member...so we're back up to 630 s/f again..give or take s/f...

Again, if I could request you tell me where I can pick up more of this same wood (rather not try to match it) even if it's more expensive, I will buy the lot from you.

If you can't, please post that too. I'm unsure of the total amount that I would need and don't want to end up short.

Thanks,

Deep

If you need more, why don't you just save yourself a bunch of headaches and buy the amount you need retail. Trying to save yourself a couple bucks will only give you headaches later.

Quack

it's not a couple of bucks, more like a couple of thousands of dollars

Yes but my point being is that if he needs a few more hundred sq ft and can't find an exact match, then this 700 sq ft of wood is waste of $2600 for him.

daytona
08-17-2006, 11:09 AM
Brothers again the savings is huge for two medium size room..at least $1200cdn or if you add taxes at least $1400 I wish I had 1000 s/f I could have sold them in one day..Some people need say two 2nd floor bedrooms done..this be a very attractive deal..its not for people who needs a whole 1'st floor completed..last I seen Brazilian Mahogany is selling for $6.99-7.99 at most hardwood stores,Merbau mahongany is abit harder and ages extremely well..The price is not $2600 by the way its more like $2000 for the lot..do the math the savings is huge..
