Just wondering before wasteing anytime trying it but has anybody or does anyone know if 235 tires will fit on the back of a E30 cleanly?

Rim being 17x7, or even if a 17x7.5, for either size would 235/40/17 fit no rub?
And if so what would you notice and is their any downside to running them in the back and 215/40/17's up front?

Any help is appreciated, and if the 235's are a no go then its 215's all around I guess.

In addition, any advice for or against the Bridgestone Potenza S-02 Pole Position Tires would be great, as theyre the 235's I can get a good deal on if I choose.
Thanks

Staggered handles like shit on these cars. Uncorrectable understeer.

At one point I had 255/40R17 on a 17x8.5 on the back of my e30. It was absolutely as wide as one can possibly go without modifying the sheet metal (fender lips were rolled)

235 is childs play.

17x7 is too small for a 235.

17x7.5 is OK, but almost too small.

17x8 is ideal for a 235.

245's all around on 8.5's is just perfect on a e30 IMO.

Last alignment just before selling the car.

^^ ok, did you have the same with staggered setup? (i think you had equal widths when sold it, no?)

settings were the same yes... give or take a very small amount.

When the car was sold it was 18x8.5 all around on 245/35R18 all around.

Tell me the offset of the wheels. Unless they're ET30 or higher, don't even try to run 235's.

Besides, a 7.5" rim isn't really enough to use a 235 anyways. Just get GOOD 215's (like RT-615's) and you'd be smoking 235 S-02's anyways.

Oh, and everything Jordan posted is 100% correct.

yea, running 225 with 7.5 and et25 was too close for comfort (to the fender) for me.
but i feel like i will need to get back to this size

anyone does good fender rolling here in GTA? mine are ghetto rolled

Sheldon your wheels are 7.5, ET35.. I would take Mistikal's advise

On a side note.. Im getting more reliable grip and a better ride with fresh 195/60/14 Falken RT-615 tires then I haver have with any of the following: 205/50/16 P7000's, 215/45/17 FM901's, 195/55/14 Azenis

Plus you'll look like a redneck if you put 235 on a 7.5 inch rim

Plus you'll look like a redneck if you put 235 on a 7.5 inch rim How so? 235/40R17 is a bit oversize (too tall) for a e30, and can look out of place... but about 11,970 95 M3's left the factory with 17x7.5 in wheels and 235/40R17 all around.

You have Ziex's now, don't you? BTW, your old 195/60 Azenis are corded :D.

Only tires that are 225 and 14 inch that are worth buying are r-comps.

Trev's rims are 15x6.5, bitch. 225/50/15 FWIW, I'm still mad at him for buying 205/55 Ziex's (when the same 225's were cheaper anyways). Weird kid.

Another FWIW, I put 225/50/16 on my sister's stock RSX-S 16x6.5 rims. Looks badass, takes a good beating, and has WAY more traction than the stock 205/55 Michelins.
