Probably not necessary to even write this as it's pretty universally accepted that you'll get great service at reasonable rates.

Got my PBR Ultimates done there yesterday. Although I booked an appointment, I was tight for time and Charlie got me in and out in no time flat.

The only thing I have to say is that he's gotta replace some of those Maxim magazines in the waiting area. They looked kinda soggy. *no-no*. And it wasn't me. :D

I have to be the third to give Charlie HUGE THANKS. He did my full engine swap in a week and washed out the engine bay making it look spotless. Now with the new engine and MarkD chip installed, the car is alot of fun!

Thanks again Charlie! Good well done!

Actually, I want to get a new ride next spring so this one I just wanted to get going again quick. I had no time to wait on an M or 328 engine as I needed the car asap for work, so I found a nice 325 engine through Bruce (Temp).

With that engine, the Mark D chip and the higher diff that my car has - it's given me some good kick now. I just had the chip done today at lunch and I can't wait to get out and drive it again!

-neilNeil, you gotta see Jasper's (Wasabi) car in person. He's pimpin 19 inch RG-R's, has a front end you won't see on every other E36, and has one of the meanest exhaust note i've ever heard. Pure hotness I must say.

I think he just swapped it for teh more power, now his car will drive as hot as it looks*th-up*

i think charlie and rocco should have a race who can swap a motor faster.

(i just watched rocco swap a s52 in less than a day:P)

we need 2 cars for (presumably free) engine swaps

Thanks for all the great comments guys. we do are best to accomadate everybody. It's not easy when you have 5 big jobs (engine jobs) on the go. But we do our best.

propr'one:
It's not about how fast you can finish an engine swap, it's more important how good and clean it comes out in the end.
I've seen charlie swap an engine in less then a day but he's extremley picky with the final touches.
he treats each and every car that comes in here like his very own.

For the record, he didn't take a week to do the engine itself. I had other parts to wait on that needed to be installed on my car. I had to replace the exhaust, and many other parts that were not transferable from my old motor.

The moral of the story here is not that who's faster - the fact is that we have 2 damn good mechanics on this board that we can use instead of paying dealership charges and getting a good job done on both ends. I have been to both shops numerous times and I can say that both guys know what they are doing...

I rather have my car sit there for a week, getting worked on by Charlie at bimmersport while my swap is getting done, instead of doing it in one day and having to return the next cause something went wrong.

Like everyone else said, its not about how long its about how good, and there aint no mechanics in town that can top the work that Charlie and Mustafa do. *th-up* Keep up the good work boys.

When you're spending money on an engine and for the labour, I think most people would pick how reliable the swap would be over how fast is the swap. You would want something reliable and looks decent. I have seen all kind of swaps happening at Bimmersport and they always end up with an amazing job.

well not in THAT town but in bolton there is... RMP FTW !!!!

things can be done Quickly AND correctly if you know what our doing.. either way they both get done RIGHT but id rather have it done RIGHT in one DAY rather then one WEEK

Whats wrong with a FAST reliable shop?

I get things done right the first time, and you are right about its not about how fast the job gets done.

Quality not quantity, some people just work faster, there is no need to bash anyone here, and I don't appriciate people just assuming things...

Just finished another swap, clean, runs great, and I am sure the owner will agree.....

Okay folks, this isn't a war about which mechanic is better. Keep this up and this is heading to the Recycling Bin.

Both Bimmersport Automotive and RMP Motors are trusted mechanics for many Maxbimmer members.

If you have a reason for your preference (i.e. a job that was not done properly, or a job that was done beyond your expectations), then I suggest you start a new thread in this maXsponsor Feedback forum. If you would like to draw a comparison; then I would expect you have taken your vehicle to both mechanics with an open mind. I am sure many of the people who have commented here have not done that; you members know who you are, so please stop bashing either mechanic until you can create a fair comment.

Sorry, just read my own thread today!

Not sure, but I don't think these are the ceramic ones. I think the ceramic ones are the low dust ones?

These are the street/light track ones. Needed them for the track as the OEMs died the first time at the track. Glazed OEM brakes ---> not good. :D

Don't know why this got jacked into a bimmersport/RMP comparison. I've never been to RMP. I live in Markham; Bolton's kinda far for me in all honesty. Bimmersport isn't close either, but it's the lesser of two evils for me. But I've been to Bimmersport twice and am totally happy with bimmersport. *th-up*

Yup it says you shouldnt take on more work then you can handle thats how things get missed (Like tightening the bolts in my flex disc after clutch install ) then charging me full price to fix it 2 weeks later.. thanx bimmersport. *thmbsdwn* *thmbsdwn*

No man, you comprehended vr6exy's statement wrong.

Let me clear it up for you, what he meant was NO ONE GOES TO RMP. They rather go to bimmersport ;)

If you need me to clear up any other posts for u, just PM me.

Correction D.. only reason bimmersport has lineups is they were the only max sponsor mechanic for a while, so everyone went to them and some people are just not willing to try out other mechanics.. but those of us that HAVE tried out RMP know whats up and will continue to deal strictly with RMP, and also RMP does have alot of customers but, they just get you in, get u fixed, and on your way so theres no lineup and its never the same people comming right back in to fix "mistakes" unless they are comming from other shops to get the mistakes CORRECTED at RMP.

Fe9L
08-14-2006, 12:44 AM
its correct what you said that bimmersport is a WELL KNOWN sponsor....but not because of that people are going back..its because they like the work being done...and their lineups arent people going to fix mistakes that have been done..its either for swaps or reg. maintenance...
i seriously wouldnt want to get in an argument and SHUT THIS THREAD OFF..the title was PROPS TO BIMMERSPORT...so lets keep it this way...have a great day bro ;)

Whoa what a thread, I dont understand why people would be talking crap about the sites official mechanics. I had the chance to get work done at both bimmersport and at RMP and both did amazing quaility work. Also having two different shops allows people to have a preference to which one they prefer but there shouldn't be any shit talking about the peoples shops.

Fe9L
08-14-2006, 02:58 PM
cant agree more...basicly the two shops could compete QUITELY...what i mean by that is both customers and owners just work on their cars, WITHOUT MENTIONING THE OTHER SHOP...and what ever comes out to be the best...will be on top...to the people in max..and in the streets... \/

i can vouch for this comment. i have been to bimmersport around 5 times now. EVERYTIME i've come out very happy and never have been back for the same reason. everytime i've been there i have seen lines up of bmw's waiting to get serviced. have met a lot a new people there, too. all happy with the service they are getting.

This thread wouldn't have turned into a competition over whos the better shop if RMP customers just kept out of it. The thread is entitled PROPS TO BIMMERSPORT.. therefore no name of anyother shop should be mentioned in this thread.. all that should be posted is positive comments on bimmersport and thats it. If people acted rationally and did that, then this thread would have been over a long time ago and Charlie would have gotten his due props and respect with no smack going around.

PS: Charlie when we gonna put in the m20 ya man. lol

It seems pretty simple. If you are one of the many who has had good experiences and is happy with Bimmersport go there and if you are one of the few who hasen't, don't. I think that getting on here and turning each thread into a competition to which neither guy has agreed to be a part of is childish and always seems to end up changing and ruining the tone and intent of the threads. This seems a bit too common lately. *thmbsdwn*

This thread is called Props to Bimmersport, so if you are like me and agree with that, it makes sense for you to be a part of it. Otherwise....well.... maybe not so much. *no-no*

I see, but not to defend or add fuel to the fire... this is an OPEN forum and there are no restrictions on posting in any thread... what I can't stand is people starting to name call and talk smack to each about each other and the mechanics... why can't everyone work and respect each other... there's plenty of work out there for everyone?

as I mentioned, it's an open forum..... take note, any thread can be hijacked!
