how can i tell if its a slate or wooden,

tap a ball against the table lightly. If it sounds like a hard surface, its either marble or slate. If it sounds like hollow knock(against a wall) then its probably wood.

8.5 feet x 6 feet and yes its very had surface and heavy too so i assume its a definetly a marble or slate and its still available

You should not assume - it could still be wood... how much was it new? That would be a good indicator...

stand at one end of the table and try and lift it, if its slate, you wont be able 2 unless youre the incredible hulk. slate tables are the best, but they are or can be extremely heavy. i learned this when a friend of mine told me she was selling hers with the house, she said it was mine if i could get it out of her basement where it was assembled.(the slate i think came in 3 sections) me and another guy both at the same end of the table couldnt even budge it, and my magical powers were still depleted at the time from a previous physics miracle(yes i built the coral castle) and i wasnt prepared 2 totally dissassemble the table, felt and all...so it went with the house :(

cus this table is heavy like a hell, you need atleast 4 peoples to lift this so yea you are right but good thing is my pool table is not in basement its on main level so easy to carry out

damn....what a deal for 300, i bought mine for 1.2k :(

I would take it if it can come apart and we can transport it. If you can help me get it to my place I'll take it.
