Why? What's wrong with adapters?

Nothing...

They are ****ing garbage, thats what. They are also like 3 inches thick. You'll have to run 5in wide wheels to fit them in the damn wheel wells unless you have completely custom wheels made.

No OEM BMW wheel will ever fit, and those adpaters aren't even a BMW bolt pattern.

Why would someone want to convert to 5x114? The wheels would need to be offset 60 just to fit a 7" wide wheel.

While I agree the ones that guy is selling are garbage (2 peice design? WTF?)...

The ones from H&R and the like are just fine... I know many people running them... seeing track abuse and everything.

Mainly VW guys running Porsche wheels... but an adapter is the same no matter what the bolt pattern, as long as it's a good quality adapter tho.

I fail to see how it secures to the hub with 4 bolts.

Also, it's 1.75" thick, not 3". I'd never use anything like that - crazy offset not to mention increasing the possibility of failure at such a critical component.

These ones are pure junk 150 bucks for hub converters, not a chance! You can find decent ones, but there is really no reason to. You can find most wheels in a 4x100 pattern. Hell, you couldn't even upgrade the brakes with these things.
