are nexen tires any good and what would u pay for 245 40 r18?

they are not bad for the price.

I wouldn't pay more than $600 for brand new ones, like $600 for a set.

ive got nexen 3000 (225/45/17), and im very impressed with the ride/feel/noise of these tires. on the recent run of the midnight cruise (stage 4) and the mosport outing (twisty back roads) the tires definitely held their own, they have alot of grip and they dont squeel on sharp corners. They also have an aggresive tread pattern.

they have the same tread partern as the goodyear's i beleive. they hold up pretty well in the rain. but takes a tad longer to warm up

winter is useless big time.. i tried driving on my 235/35/18s (Nexen 3000)... bad choice many days i had to park the car on the street and walk.. Otherwise they are a pretty good tire.. I find they hydroplane fairly easily tho. But for agressive summer driving.. you're good to go...

have you try looking at Fuzion ZRi, they go on sale a lot, I picked up a set of 235/45/17 for about $600, pretty good tire & not much road noise, they use old Bridgstone tire compond
