Almost ready for the road, just sorting out some paperwork with the department of transport and waiting for a couple more parts from the states, including a rear plate frame.

is there much of a tuning market for these cars like headlights wheels ? like mods etc ??

06-08-2006, 07:10 AM
thanks guys

Yes, there is a tuning market for these cars. Many performance upgrades, but I have seen people do body kits and things like halo (angel eye) headlights. 951kid would know more about that stuff as my car is bone stock.

Sweet; I love these cars. I've been debating selling my 328 for a 944 turbo or 3.0. Much of a difference?

Depends, I have not driven the 3.0 so I really could not pick one or the other, it seems that the turbo is slightly more desired in the 944 community though. If interested in getting one, I recomend that you look at www.j-specimports.ca , that is where I picked up this one, in fact, a black 944 turbo came up for sale on there today ( http://www.j-specimports.ca/index.php?page=list/index.php?PHPSESSID=de9050774a1eb3fbcbe3804043c9d9 00 ) . You can get some good deals in Japan as long as you can bear the wait.

To be honest, I am not a huge fan, but the car had them on when we got it and it had been resprayed around the stickers, sorta dumb. I guess I will have to get used to them for now......

yes - there is a ton available for these cars, most of the stuff in North America is out of california. there are some very powerful [very large lag] turbo kits out there for it. these cars, being 20 yrs old can hang with the best of them. very under-estimated. DAM has one of the most fun cars to drive from that company, enjoy!

you can't even begin to understand my love for your car. I have always loved those cars. I have posters and little models of it. There's a gentleman just about a block away with the same car i belive. Spoke to him a couple of times, even brought up the thought of tradin my car with cash for it.

Good luck with the car and have alot of fun.

Funny that this thread should be brought back to the top, it came out of the shop today, finally having the new timing belt installed, meaning that the car is 100% mechanically. The car is a blast to drive, I want to take it out for a track day so I can really see what it can do.
