m30's suck. very heavy, inefficient engine.

You can build a very nice m20 that puts down more power for less money.

bit more power than stock m30 perhaps, but not a chipped one. For less money? no. Engine work is expensive.

Lighter than the M20, WAAAAAAY more power, and much cheaper to maintain not to mention EXCELLENT mileage!

If you're going to swap, you could go to a m50 instead of the m30. The m30 tranny is different than the m20, whereas with the m50 mates to the 5 speed already in your e30.

That's right ...I would go with the new BMW Technology without looking back for sure.
