whats up guys? Wrong section for me but i was driving home from Detroit Sunday afternoon and saw a group of about 5 or 10 old school 5's up the 402 East and than on the 401 East. Years ranging from i'd say 84 up to about 88. There was a really sweet brown 533i with a front and back bumper conversion. No chrome on this one. Hid headlight conversion too... looked pretty sweet. Just thought I'd see if this was a maxbimmer thing or just a bunch of buddies driving together... ah well... cars looked good... lets keep it that good.

your car was the one i was saying is pristine... i have to say that was a beautiful car... i never would have thought it was an '80 though. But seriously, your car is sick. I was the guy in the black mk3 dub. You caught me drooling over your car i think, as we drove by you. But maybe someone here will know. A few of the e28's that passed us on 402 didnt have their back bumpers on, but about half hour later, we caught up and they had them on? Any reason why?

Thanks Buddy...now that you mentioned the black mk3 dub, I remember you twisting your head back and I nodded a 'thanks' back at you!
BTW...we caught up to those two other E28's with no rear bumpers that you mentioned too. They were not with us but I did recognize one of the owners from a previous BMWCCA meet a couple of years ago.

Ahhh, Rommel, Rommel, Rommel....my friend, you need to clear your head from my sweetheart....She'll never depart from me at any price.:moon:
My suggestion to you is to sell that *cough, cough* new E36 you picked up and put it towards a new paint job for your nice E12 you have sitting in the garage. Then set aside some coin for some classy wheels and the suspension can come the following year......BUT, I think its too late, you've been converted into the new E36 crowd. Let me know when you want to sell your old love and I'll take care of her.

Lol Eddie, im patient.. everybodys got their price.. even if i have to wait until you hand over the keys to your son, i'll be there. *wave*

Come to think of it, the E12 that really needs to be saved is the one just south of Bayview and Finch with the modded 3.0ltr.

Since my friend moved up to Richmond Hill area, i have been frequenting that area alot, and i have seen 3 different e12's in that area, a black 530i, a silver 528i and a green 520 <-- euro!. Theyre coming back eddie!

Oldschool..

My son will get the keys when I'm done with it...it may be longer than you think :D

As for that Euro one on Bayview...poor thing*sad* , that really needs to be saved.
The current owner has no interest in that car. I talked to him and even gave him the number of the BMW technician who installed that engine in his car so he can get it looked at....but nothing happened.

I keep hearing about this nice black 530i....maybe leave him a note on the window or something...or flag him down if he's driving.
Let's see if he's a real enthusiast of the E12?
I've flagged down a couple of very nice E28's and now they're part of the E12/E28 community.

nice cars guys. That woulda been quite the sight on the highway. Makes me wish i'd kept my e28 ('88 528e) instead of sellin' it for the e34 ('92 535i)

i had an 86 528e... in my experience, not alot of fun to drive, but sure would have been a hell of a trek. especially with 10 others in the same car
