What tire width can you safely put on a 9" wide rim (19x9) not taking fender clearance in account? Thx

9" is for 255
but you can put 245 stetching a bit or 265 to have a slightly bubbled looking sidewall

It actually depends on the tire manufacturer. If you check out the companies website, most brands have specs for every tire, and you can see what the min and max rim widths are for every size.

For what it's worth, the new Z06 has 275's on a 8.5" rim. Looks great.

Where have you seen a Z06 with a 275 on an 8.5" rim?

The new Z06 has 18x9.5 rim up front with 275/35/18 and 19x12 with 325/30/19 rear.

First Vlad is wrong today, now you.....the golden era of maxbimmer is over....:(

I read it in Motor Trend last week. Guess it was a typo, because I looked at it twice too.

Do any of you guys know how a tire width of 255 would look on a 8.5" wide rim? Pictures would be great!!! Thanks!

Carlo, search for BMW_7's car photos with OEM wheel
He used to have 8.5 wheel with 255 tire.
