First of all I like to say hey to everyone, I like your forum. Second is my question, I just inherited my fathers 1984 318i. It needs work. Paint is so so, interior is soso, but the car runs pretty good. Question is should I spend money on getting it back to its former glory or should I just scrap it???

welcome...post some pics...if you want to keep the car put in a m50 motor and matching manual tranny.
for interior and exterior, find a parts car and swap stuff around.
body, depending on rust is usually how i decide if i should keep the car or not.

not too much rust, at least not enough to deter me. I definetly need a drivers seat though. How much would an engine run me??

lol I wasnt thinking ferrari more like e36 :P just something a lil newer...

Instead of blowing money redoing an old POS, that will still drive like a 22 year old car with mediocre performance, you are way better off buying newer...

I have an E30 too and was in the same dilemma about fixing it up or not. I opted out as it really is just a waste of money. Sure, I want the car to look nice and all, but do I really need to dump 5-7g's into it and never see that money back again?

I'd rather just save and get a nice E30 M3 or something.

wow looks pretty damn good for a 22year old car.
guess they don't rust to much if at all in Georgia?

I think you'd have little trouble selling that
