255s on the rear of a stock E36? Possible? Or will i need fender roll, gunna be about a 1.5inch drop. et40 8.5inch rim

yep, it can, but you might need any combo of the following:
-extra negative camber
-higher offset wheel
-rolling of the fender

So either higher offset than 40mm, I might roll the fenders since it is going for paint soon. But its kinda wierd having a 8.5inch rim all around and a 255 on the rear and a 325 on the front.

That's the same setup I'm running on.. 225/40/18 on the front, 255/35/18 on the back. I had to roll fenders to get the back to fit, but my rims are +35.

Though this setup was recommended for me... I really don't recommend it, as I find the car follows the grooves in the road way too much.. (way way way too much.)

It was mostly all the look, beastly tires in the rear*uzi*
But no one fears a 318 so :P

Don't bother.

245/40/17 all around.

I can get away with 245 on the front?

ET40 8.5? Yeah. It'll be close though, if your springs are soft you may catch the fender.
