I agree....this isn't thread crapping as much as it is advice:

Look in the trader and you'll find a 97 w/ 105k for $19000, so maybe you should lower your price to generate some interest.

bump and the best of luck.

I also agree. I'd be looking for around 19-20K.

the man can ask what he wants! but this is one nice car. lower mileage does not always mean a better car

Ya, but we're talking about generating interest here so people will come and actually see what a nice car he has..........would you call a guy, selling a car, any car for 30% above market value??????

Although some good points have been made, here are a few more facts:
1. Kelly Blue Book value in usa funds is $20,600.00 which is $23,600.00 cdn and this is just what is listed in Blue book which does not take into account the desireability of the vehicle in the market.
2. There is a similar car even mileage is same except in white for sale in California for us$20,900.00 which is $24,000.00 canadian
3. ebay has one less mileage for us$22,995.00 which is $27,000.00 canadian
4. Auto trader also has a 1997 at bmw mississauga for $28,900.00
5. Auto trader has a 1998 in black at $25,956.00

So the range of pricing out there justifies the price being asked. I am also including a full set of summer and winter tires and rimms.
If you want to chat and are serious about buying the car, price is negotiable and I am willing to take less than asking for a quick sale this week.

It is up to you. Feel free to contact me.

Now that's a serious seller..........bump

... and the Canadian Blackbook value on this car is $20,801.00

1998 BMW 3 Series M3 2D Coupe
Current KM Reading 140000KM

Price Includes
Air Conditioning

Low: $16,901.00 High: $20,801.00

Assuming the car is mint, the high value would apply.
If the interest is there, you should be able to sell it for $21,000-$22,000K easy. Good luck with the sale.

I am sad to report that the vehicle was stolen and involved in an accident that totalled it. Such a sad ending to a beautiful car.

I have the summer rims and tires still here in storage in Toronto and they are now for sale. Let me know if you are interested.
DUNLOP FM 901 SPORT TIRES FOR SALE
Tires mounted to original BMW M series rims
Fronts are 225/45zr17
Rears are 245/40zr17

about 90 percent tread left - only on 1998 BMW M3 for last summer. No longer have car. Was stolen with winter tires and rims. Died a sad death.

Here's the tire description:

The SP Sport FM901 is Dunlopís Ultra High Performance "summer" radial designed to blend sizzling appearance and performance for today's sports cars, coupes and sporty sedans. This also makes the SP Sport FM901 an ideal candidate for customizing vehicles by providing a look and size lineup that provides a wide range of "Plus Two" or "Plus Three" applications.

On the outside, the SP Sport FM901's wide tread features large interlocking tread blocks that are aligned in a directional pattern to enhance dry traction and handling, increase wet traction and resist hydroplaning. Dunlop's "Chaos" tread block arrangement varies the size and shape of the tread blocks to help break up repetitive patterns and minimize noise levels. On the inside, the SP Sport FM901 features two steel belts reinforced by a spirally-wrapped JointLess Band (JLB) of nylon to support the tread area for high-speed durability and predictable handling while minimizing weight and improving ride uniformity. Additionally, a single strand of steel that is spirally-wound forms beads that are rounder for a better fit to the wheel and to further enhance handling and ride quality.

Insurance pay-out is cool but its a shame that car isn't being passed onto another driver.

Stole the keys and then the car.
Insurance covered nicely, but is sad nonetheless that car is not on the road.

Anyone interested in the summer rims and tires?

so basically,

1. you tried to sell the car for way over market value
2. no luck, interest and thread died out
3. couple months later, car was involved in theft AND crash which left it completely wrecked and not fixable
4. luckily, your winter rims were on it in (June), and summer rims were safe in the garage
5. now you're trying to sell the summer rims to make another couple of G's.

i don't know how see-through you DON'T think this all is, but i wouldn't have listed it for sale online in the first place.

good luck to you. ;)

Well Chick, you must work in the political field or for a newspaper as you have an interesting spin upon events to suit your own conspiracy theory.
1. Market value was there and interest was high on car as many came to see, test drive and negotiate price (a usual event when privately selling car)
2. Back in April a deal was struck to sell car, but vehicle stolen prior to completion - much to the chagrin of both of us.
3. Winter rims and tires still on car in April. This is Canada afterall.
4. Realization now that the summer rims and tires are still here in storage, so decided to update post with offer for interested BMW owners who care if they want the tires and rims.
5. What's wrong with making a couple of bucks while helping out other owners and passing on equipment no longer required.
6. This is not the only site the tires and rims are for sale upon.

Luck is what you make of it.
See through??? - I don't like the undertone and would think that someone who is interested in BMW and has as many posts as you would have some empathy for this loss. As for posting cars for sale online, welcome to the 21st century.

I spoke to the seller when he still had it. I told him asking price was high, he was very flexible on price. Seemed like a nice guy on the phone. Whether this is/was a scam or not, it is done with. Good for him. Now leave him alone. Don't be jealous.

hahaha...don't like my undertone? take it to mean what you want. i said it's a situation that looks suspicious, and if you look at others' posts, i'm not the first, or only one to say it.

as for selling cars online, thanks for reminding me what age we live in. you misunderstood my implication. :)

i'm sure he's a great guy to deal with, why wouldn't he be?
jealous of what exactly, his insurance payout?? i'm simply stating some observations, and once again, am not alone in thinking what i do of this situation. it's a very common occurence.
