View Full Version : Trying to choose a tire

I need a little help choosing a tire.
I'm looking for a good set of summers for my 328i, I have 3 different makes that were suggested but just unsure of what to get. All the tires are within $10 of each other so i'm really undecided, and would appreciate some opinions.
Tire #1 Pirelli Pzero Rozo
Tire #2 Continental Sport Contact 2
Tire #3 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3
Price approx $230 each
Personally it all depends upon your driving style. Read up on each tire brand and look at the reviews given by the people that already have had these tires. It's easy to do, just go to Tirerack.com or Tiretrends.com and look at the reviews. It might help you pick what kind you'd like. Right now I have the Continentals on the rear's of my Sentra, I like them, but people say that they aren't that good.
For the size you are looking for there are many different brands. Check em out, price out your options until you find what you are looking for.

In the Dec. '05 Car & Driver all of those tires were compared (along with 8 others).
The GS-D3's came in first, and the SC2's were second. The Rosso's were way down the line.

I'm guessing you have an SE-R Spec-V. If so those are the first version of the Continentals, very different from the ones he's looking at here. Like 6-7 years of development between the two.

Out of the few different tires I've used, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D2's were by far my favourite. I would definately go with the D3's.
