The website notes that this is only for an automatic. Is this true with your unit?

no, it will work for a manual car as well.

The only thing is that if you left your car in gear it will start, but then shut off.

the alarm does not have the feature that can sense if the car is in gear or not, like more expensive remote starter system.

So you have to remember if you left it in gear or not.

Does anyone know how much it would be to install?

install will run around $400-$600 CDN, depending on which shop does the job. Most shops will just charge hourly, depending on how much work needs to be done. Honestly, though it's a long process (only because you have to dismantle so much of your vehicle to wire up the brain, sensors, and antenna), but it's not difficult to do yourself.. I'd recommend giving it a shot, instructions are very easy to follow, just need to get a wiring diagram for your car. (haynes or bentley manuals.)

I have the same unit in my car with the remote starter. It is pretty sweet, and the remote starter still works after the conversion to 5 speed, but you have to remember to keep the car in neutral which I am not use to. I got it done at Best Buy, and they took the full day to hook it up, but they won't install the remote starter on Manual cars. Bump for sweet alarm

Thanx for the Bumps!

at bestbuy it costs 600$ plus tax to buy and install.

If you are good with your hands you should be able to install it yourself, also if you have a day to play around with your car you'll probably get it done.

I have done alot of wiring and exploring in my e30, and if something happens to it with the experience i have now i am sure that i can adjust or fix it myself without taking it someone that will cost me an arm and a leg.
