Just wondering if this is a good deal. I found a set of Toyo T1Rís 235/35/19's for $1500 minus the rebate $120 = $1380 mounted and install. Is that good?

Tires23 had quoted me $1050 for T1-R in the 225/45/17 size. The 19's price sounds great.

T1Rs are racing tires; thats what R stands for. If you use em for daily driving on 19s, I bet they don't last 5000km. For these tires, track ONLY from what I've been told. The tread life isn't meant for daily driving, and if it rains outside, you WILL die. :)

Toyo T1R's are NOT racing tires, they are street tires, they have a wear rating of 280, which is a normal rating for a performance tire. I had the T1S, which are the predecessor to the T1R and they lasted almost 20,000km.

Toyo RA1's ARE racing tires, they have a wear rating of 100, they are certified DOT-R, and state 'FOR COMPETITION USE' on the sidewall.

You have been misinformed.

The actual tread wear rating is more like 40...
