I went to three places today looking into buy 235 40 r17s...I looked at the Yokohama es100s, basically got quoted 260 per tire balanced and installed...

Does anyone have any connections to buying tires...

Is this a decent price...

and is there any specific shop I should go too

Thanks

Try Martin at Tires23. www.tires23.com. Tires23 supports a number of other car forums. I think they had a special on Toyo T1-R in 225/45/17. Something like $1050, tax in and installed. Smokin!

You could call Dave @ Mutual Motors 416-535-5230
I know he has good connections for rims and so he should be able to help with tires as well.
Tell him that Chris Dixon sent you.

So...does no one actually see the Wheel/Tire forum section?

Moved.

This is my suggestion.

find a few reputable places that you can email a request for a specific price on a certain size and brand.

Ask for their best price all inclusive and then sit back and wait for replies..
Don't be surprised if they email you back..."come in and we'll talk price", tho.

Here's a few of the reputable names I could think of

http://www.superiortire.ca/content.php?page=pages/tires/intro.html
http://www.wheelandtirezone.com/wheels.asp
http://www.1010tires.com/

1010 tires is an internet business based out of BC and price the Yoks Es100 235/40-17 at $209.99 CAD

Good luck
