No spacers but you should pick up some hub centric rings - they're pretty cheap - I think tire racks sells them for under 5 bucks each.

What size rubber? and did it hit the rear or front?

What?

I've seen it done, 17X8 ET20 should have no problem with E24 struts.

rubber is 235 45 17. They are touching the front shocks

You might have the rears on the front, no?

Aren't the 540 wheels staggered, the rears are deepeer!

That could be it; but most style 5's aren't staggered. When I had my 6 series I was close to buying these rims but I wound up selling the car before modding began. Checking out the roadfly forum; lots of people run these rims with 235/45/17.

Lee if you still have these rims and they don't fit your M6 let me know I want them!

Staggered Style 5's are pretty rare.

I think he has a bent front strut.

I just put a set of Stye 5's on my car with ET 20mm offset from a e39 540 sport. They fit okay.My e28 is the same platform as your e24.I'm running Dunlop SP2000 235/45zr17 on all corners.I do have my rear wheel wells rolled though.
