Wait till spring comes, much better than what Mother Nature is giving to us.
Not to mention, need to find a good location and need to plan things out, almost like a football game plan, everyone huddle. haha

Yeah, someone willing to risk having their camera suctioned cup onto the car? Not me, considering I don't have the $$$$ to purchase a new camcorder in case, for whatever uncontrollable reason, the suction cup fails.

mike, for the day part...just use a cabrio and some1 go in the back...thats what i was thinkin...and for the night video, keep the video down....i doubt it was suction cupped...that'd be crazy and wouldnt work! at those speeds no....it was some crazy ass mofo in the sunroof...if you dont wanna try it, im willin to! *devil*

Im pretty sure that camera was mounted, it was way too still for a human to be holding it.

Nah, it's definitely tripod mounted, esp. when he turns so quickly like that. I have a site, pretty hardcore, which shows all these different types of suction cup camera mounts.

what to buy them? even if they are tested...i wouldnt buy one unless i had a lot of cash to buy a new camera just in case...

hmm, well I guess long as the speeds are high and vibrations aren't too hectic, I think the camera will stay. If now we have other ways to go about it. We have many many months to plan so we can take our beauty time to figure things out.

he has 2 cameras, both sony, both almost the size of his palms... they are put onto tripods in the car.

well

that was what i read on dtm forum

Count me in also, I want to be in this thing, and I have a camera we can use, but it only works good in the daytime, not night.

This video was only test shots, but I was bored one day and put it all together.

The road was in the seattle, WA area. It was about 50 degrees that day. I went back 2 weeks later and it was about 45 degrees.

I used a custom car mount which you can see pictures of at www.schnazzy.com (articles)

I'll bite the bullet and offer to use my M3 and sony camcorder for a new video*mumble* :D

bite what bullet? I use a PD150 (about $4000) camera on my car at VERY high speed (with my mount) and I don't worry at all. Although a rock or something could hit the lense. With cheaper mounts i would worry.

the nite shoot was hella cold. I helped film some of the freeway shots with safeco, and seahawk stadium in the background, as well as some tunnel shots. lots of fun. Schnazzy= thanks for the opp to help. let me know when youre doing another. also, whens the GICS show comming out?

the "car following camera" view really made it so much more better, scenery is another plus. lookin forward to max doin some of that in the future. good post Gamite!

If this is going to happen in the spring, I can drive my car as the video car. I don't have a camera but am willing to drive for some cool shots.

My paint is tough, so if we need to be inventive for the camera mounts, I am game
