It's actually pretty close to the weight of a VR6 so it's not bad since it's an aluminum block however it's been done many times before.

^^^ But don't a lot of dub guys think the VR6 is too heavy as is, and that's why they prefer to build up their 2.0s?

Never heard that although some who were lucky enough to have the 2.0L 16valve will keep it. Most guys are torn between the 1.8T and the VR6. Number one swap in the MKII is a VR6. The power to weight ratio in that car is incredible plus throw on a Supercharger and your around 300hp at the wheels.

I thought the V8 Caddy Northstar was a heavy engine at around 550lb, or around 500lb depending if it's the bi-turbo or not. Both heavier than the LS1. Still quite a heavy engine for such a small car... though I have to admit, it's a very tempting (and common) engine swap... some people are putting them in MR2's now too.

I still think it's an awesome engine swap though... that dub is going to go like stink.
