View Full Version : My stereo whines!

Ok, I just some new speakers put into the car, the fronts are a component set, and just 5 1/4 rears, I got them installed at the stereo place, and when I'm driving down the road, (with my stereo off/ and on) the higher RPM's I go, the higher pitch the whine gets, not louder, just higher. I bet you woudn't be able to hear it on the highway with the wind noise, but man, around town it gets really annoying, what could this be? Need help.

PS: its a factory deck

if you have it all hooked up to an amp check your ground.
that whinee noise with the rmp's usually means the ground is not good enough (bad spot, not enough surface area touching, etc)
maybe theres paint or dirt or something in between the connection.

stop playing your stereo until it's fixed if you havent already. You can seriously mes up ur components by leaving the whine. I had the same problem and had to get my deck, amp and crossover fixed $$$$$

try electronics interferences, maybe RCAs running parallel to power cable, check that too! usually third world installers doesn't check where is the power cord, so it might be running right next to the signal wires, that's the usual case of interference!

or maybe just tell the car this:
STOP WHINING!!!! *drunk*

depending on were he mounted the amp and if his bats in the tunk like mine
the installers would hafta go out of their way to put the rcas beside the power wire...
at least the way im picturing it in my head :huh?:

Sorry guys, forgot to mention, no amp, just a factory deck, (picking up a new one this weekend, just don't know where) and the speakers.......... you think that the prob might fix when I get the new deck?

keep speaker wires from power wires.
all speaker wire have to be on the right side of the car and power cables on the left side.
use a new ground on the deck ( screw it to the body )and check polarity of the speakers.
