Ever test what kind of horsepower you created with the switch?

I'm sorry this is off topic, but I was wondering what your 3.2L swap cost you (you can PM me of course) in total (engine, plus install etc etc). Thanks a lot

Sorry, never dyno'd it. But it will smoke an E46M3.

ummmm..nope it won't smoke a e46 m3 ...they do 13.3 13.5 ..a stock 98 m3 coupe does 14 flat (ti doesnt weight much less )...that engine looks stock ...plus with the shorter wheel base u actually loose horse power because off the lenth off the exhaust ...(a guy with a ti did a swap ...in euro tuner mag ..and they had to make a special exhaust system to make up for the power lost )
but other then that thats an awsome sleeper :)
and goodluck with the sale *th-up*

If I didn't dump my money into restoring my 325i and this was a month sooner I would get this in a heart beat, u've done all the work I'd want to do to a e36 plus its a ti, what a fun toy B U M P so worth it!

240 Hp (maybe) vs 333/343 Hp. How do you figure thats even possible. Also the gearng on the M3 is much taller (3.62:1) along with a 6sp.

My bet would be on the e46 M3 any day.

I'd wager the Ti has a 400lb weight advantage. I know an S50 E30 (at 2800lbs or so) will keep sightly ahead of an E46 M3, and this shouldn't be much heavier.

I can't beleive this car hasn't sold yet, I want it badly.

2800/240 = 11.6lbs/hp
3400/333 = 10.2lbs/hp

E46 M3 has also torque and gearing advantage. So, I dont see it happening.

I've never seen it happen, but I can distinctly remember two different guys racings E46 M's and pulling on them.

One started out as a 318iS and weighs 2600lbs with the S50. The other is NickP, he has 3.5HFM/24lb/SW, so I guess it's not exactly equal.

Sick! Good luck selling! If I didn't have 5 cars sittin' in the driveway this would be sittin' next to the other Ti one for the week & one for the weekend!!!
Pls Pm me on complications during install & issues on the swap, would love to know since the Ti will be a on goin' build........thanks

That would be an e36 M3 (with 3.5" HFM, SW, and injectors). That's more believable.

Even in my car guys when I had my 3.2 euro motor with 6 speed, 3.15 LSD diff, lighten flywheel off the line the E46 M3 would pull me but I challenged several of them on the fly and they couldn't pull on me. I started pulling ever so slightly I mean ever so slightly so no chance you 318ti with a U.S. swap will pull on a E46 M3.

Still a nice sleeper though*th-up*
